What a great story! I'll bet the old guy daydreamed the rest of the day about the vettes he's had. I wonder what was his favorite. It would be nice to have that conversation with him some day.

He said "Your Vette looks great! How much do you want for it?"
"Two Million dollars" I responded.
He laughed and said, " I bought my first Vette in 1953 and got a new one every two years until I moved in here and sold my last one, a C-4. Your Vette must be the first one I have seen in 10 years or so. It brings back fond memories."
We talked for awhile until my Mom arrived and he told me he was 96 years old.
While reading, my first thought was he was going to wack your car with his cane because you were parked in a handicap zone, but that was not the case. Nice going, if I live that long, I would want someone as nice as you to do the same for me.

That reminds me of a cool story. I decided to stop into the local Walmart one day while out in the Vette. As I'm walking back to the car I see a car parked right next to mine and of course I'm parked out in the back forty. I noticed an elderly couple standing next to my car and looking and pointing at it. I'm thinking they're checking out some damage they did. As I approach the car they started a conversation assuming that I'm the owner since there are no other cars around. They proceed to tell me that they were driving through the lot and had to stop and check out my car, the torch red with polished Classics caught their eye. They were telling me how beautiful they thought my car was. But the part that was really cool was when they told me that over the years they owned several Vettes all the way back to the fifties. They always like to check out Vettes still and regret not having one now, but they have great memories. They said if getting in and out wasn't difficult for them, they'd still be driving them. Made my afternoon.
