A lot of people don't believe that my car's an 03. About 60% of the people who have asked me ask me if my car just came out. Maybe it's because of the Tigershark front
GM styling studios hit a home run with the C5. It looks good viewed from any angle. I currently have 2 C5's with no desire to move to a C6, there are creases in the lines of the C6 that don't suit my eye.
As others have posted, it's technologically better but the difference isn't worth the extra cash. With a few mods you'll be right up there in terms of power and speed if that's your goal.

Opinions will obviously vary but,I say no it doesn't look dated.I truly believe one of the benefits of the C5 is that it was run for only 8 production years.Compared to the C4 which was already dated by
the early nineties with seventies technology.
The C6 is an evolution of the C5,I think to our benefit that helps
keep the car still look cutting-edge.Just my $.02 worth.
If you CAN pick up a C6 Z06 though...for god's sake what the hell are you waiting for
I agree....I think the C5 has a timeless look...Like the C2....I dont think it will ever be "dated"....Of course I love my C6Z....but if it meant giving up my C5s to buy my C6Z I wouldnt have done it....Just one reason I had to wait three years for my C6Z....I could have had one "back then" if I would have given up my C5s...

last year, I had a guy ask me what year my car was. When I told him it was a 1997, he said "wow! It looks like an '04!
You gotta be pretty good to tell the difference between a 97 and an 04...Swapping out wheels can make it next to impossible if you dont get a look at the passenger side..(passenger side key hole disappeared in 2000)
"Dated " is a relative term . Dated as compared to what? My '51 Chevy? [IMG][/IMG]
Fact; the basic C5 is over ten years old. Think of the C5 as the SR71 Blackbird which is 44 years old and there is still nothing like it today for styling and performance.
I was just wondering. I think that our c5s look pretty damn good, but some of my freinds say it looks dated and that I should pick up the new c6 z06. I could go ahead and pick up one tomorrow, but still like my frc. What would you do?
What would I do? Hell I traded in my 02 C5 for an 07 C6. Added the widebody to the C6 and thought I couldn't have made a better decision. NOT!! What a mistake that was. I sold the widebody conversion and sold the C6. Looking to get back into a C5 but this time a Z. Don't make the mistake I did. Newer isn't always better. Some cars go down as classics. The C5 is one of them. Some body designs just don't go out of style.
The C5 is what I fell in love with. I think the C6's are just a matter of keeping up with the times to some degree. Not to slam the C6's but the C5 (from what I've heard) maintains the ultimate American sports car feel whereas the newer generation removes from that sensation from the driver somewhat. I will never get rid of my C5. In fact I'm willing to bet the C7's will revert back to the feel and the looks of the C5 to some degree.
