Valentine One or Escort 8500
We have both. I prefer the V-1

Also - where do you recommend purchasing it from? I'd prefer to go in to a store so I can compare, but if you know of any online stores, I'm open to that as well.

Did you get caught on Radar (State Police) or by local police ?

The local police are not allowed to use radar in PA, only the State Police.

I like the Escorts myself for radar, Lasers, etc ...

As for the local's watch for white lines across the roads. They time ya from point to point.

I had a top of the line bell, and then switched to the v1 almost 2 yrs ago, and I love it. Its hardwired and totally out of the way.

State police. They've started using the white lines pretty extensively here.

I should have done this posting as a poll!

Yeah, I live over in the Valley Forge area and there a few white line ares over in Plymouth meeting area.

I have an Escort 8500 X50 and can't tell you how many times it has saved me. I travel all over the country and Canada, I've only been given one ticket in the last 10 years and I beat that the other week in court.

I'm actually going to upgrade to the 9500 when I get home from this trip.

What did they clock you at ?

Hi. 84 in a 65 on the NE extension. I'll probably go right to the 9500 if I get the Escort. I'm headed down your way today (but not in the Vette ) Thanks for your feedback and travel safely!

I don't have to worry about the police on this trip. I'm up in Terrace Bay, Ontario and have to drive from here back down to Minneapolis to catch a plane home on Saturday afternoon.

It's too dang cold and dangerous to being sitting on the side of the road trying to radar anyone. Heck on the way up here I saw a cougar standing in the median of the road. Just about scared the **** out of me.

I have had good luck with V1. I still trust my judgement over the detector and it works everytime. Just drove 1100 miles back from Michigan without any incidents. I was only doing a couple miles over posted limit though

Good luck with it and send a PM to forum member "The NNIAL8R". He may be able to point you in the right direction with it

It was late at night and very dark. It happened so fast. At first I thought I was day dreaming but when it started moving I knew it was the real thing.

Thanks for the well wishes. It's pretty cold up here at the moment. Getting some snow flurries on and off, hopefully nothing will really accumulate.

I have a V1 in both my cars and love the arrows. Wired using the Invisacord to the mirror using the great lakes visor mount in the ZO6 can't be beat.

i always find the best prices and best choice's on ebay, u can buy new or used u can buy a top of the line built into the grill radar at half price as far as brand, each brand will have there low med and high end models, i use the rocky mountain with the invisable to the radar gun mode, it was $300 new u can buy them on ebay now for half that price. good luck!

Keep in mind for a trip into Canada that police cruisers have Radar Detector Detectors.

I'm not lying.

I believe ya. I think I only saw (3) police officers the whole time I was up there and they were cleaning up accidents.

Multiple deer and elk accidents.

Escort 8500 here. I find that it actually tends to slow me down due to so many speed traps in my area. But then again a few of my corvette cruising buddies might disagree with that when they travel with me on our Nevada highways.

Yes a little harsh, unless you have never been speeding.

Nothing beats the Valentine One in the under $500 radar detector category.
