Gay doesn't necessarily have to mean "homosexual" anymore. A lot of people use the word "gay" as a synonym for something that sucks, lame, blows, etc. Just because gay is attached to homosexual, does not mean it is wrong to use it in other forms. I don't think he meant anything bad to homo's when he said that.
Hell, I say stuff is gay all the time, but that isn't a slam on homosexuals. It is just a younger persons way of saying something sucks.
First and formost the fact that a guys vette got torched is the subject of this thread and I feel really bad for him. I don't want to get off topic but it really upsets me that people use that word in a derogatory way. How about just saying it sucks. I do understand what you are saying though. I used a derogatory remark that was completly harmless in my mind but after I thought about what I said it made sense that it could be offensive.
A guy described a car to me and I said "man, it sounds like it was really ni....d up. A black coworker heard me say it and he jumped me about it. I apologized to him and have never used that term again to describe something that is modified. Just hoping to educate someone else. Now back to the topic.
Not to hijack...but 02ebVert, I understand what you are saying. I broke my sons from using this vernacular. I don't care what some say, it IS a derogatory term aimed at relating something bad to something they consider "bad".
Mys sons no longer use that term for something undesirable.
However.....I would like the rainbow back please. Nobody should be able to claim that as their own to relate to their preferences. It's natures gift to us all...
I cannot believe this could ever just happen. What is wrong with the world!!! I hope everything works out!! Its a good thing you got the the fire fast!!
It will a nasty job cleaning everything if they don't total it out.
I hate that happend man. I had some kids beat the windows out of my coupe a couple weeks ago you would think people could find better **** to do with there time than messing peoples cars. Hope you get things worked out!
OMG - looking at those pix brought back memories of simular thing that happened in my driveway a few years back. I steal feel that churning inside looking at your pix. Sorry for your loss. Hope it all works out in the end for you. The world is full of crazies.
I hope it was random myself. I would hate to think I knew someone capable of something like that.

Thanks for the kind words. I'm just trying to get people to hear what that sounds like to someone like me. Funny thing is, I just plain don't like the word "Gay". How the hell did we get branded with that I wanna know. I prefer heterosexually challanged.
Seriously though, I'm not one of these militant "gay" people you have been seeing on TV lately but I just had to speak up this time.
And yes you can have your rainbow flag back. I never have understood that either. I don't even own one. OK back to the program already in progress.

To the OP: I really hope you get some satisfaction and either get your car back good as new or better and catch the criminal(s) that did this. Can't help but have the feeling that someone you know did this
