Don't get me wrong, I love my car. I just see so much more information on the C6 and the C5 is starting to look dated to the public. IMHO
I sound slike it is to you ... that's ok. Makes the world go round .. I just know that I still get that look from women in the cross walks that tell me its not .... I honest enough to realize its not my smile.
I stopped at the post office a couple of days ago on a clear crisp day. The corvette was clean fresh out of the garage. As I stood by the car getting ready to get back in, a little senior lady, I would guess in her seventies, said "Oh thats a beautiful car! Did you get that for yourself for Christmas?"
People love the color of my car(electron blue), and it always makes me smile when i pull it out the garage for a cruise. That's all that matters, that I still love it. My first vette, a 93 white on white with a Greenwood wing was nice, but I feel the C5 styling is timeless. Just like some folks marvel at the lines of many older cars, the C5 will become one of those classic designs, if it isn't that already.
I believe that a C5 MAY look dated to Corvette enthusiasts because it has been seen now for over 10 years. I also think that people who just like sports cars do not think it looks dated because the C5 was so far ahead of its time that it is still very stylish.
One thing is for sure. This car has some of the sexiest lines and curves of all times! I wager to say more time went into the body styling of the C5 than any sports coupe of its era.

I have yet to look at it from any angle imaginable and smile in wonder at how great the design is on the 'corvette'. GM hit the nail squarly on the head with the design and styling. And, have you ever seen a 'bad' photograph of a C5? From any angle they are beautiful.
The C6 still has some of the C5 'basics' but to me it looks like a clone with a mutant genetic disorder.... Pretty and looks fast but it's just not the class the C5 has.
Timeless IMO
I'm sure I will move on someday, but can't see that far in the future yet.
Guess you would have to ask the 6 people surrounding my C5 tonight when I came out of the Pizza joint all commenting on how great the car looked. Two C6's parked opposite me - nobody standing around them making comments!

I completely agree....They "might" look dated to a Corvette owner, or someone who knows Corvette generations....But to the majority of the public, they look as FANTASTIC now as they did the day they came out.....I often show my Corvettes (C5 Vert, C5 Coupe, and C6Z)....Ive had folks that were extremely surprised to learn my C5s are almost a decade old...also had folks that thought my C5s were Ferarris
I still get compliments on my C4 **AND** 91 Trans Am let alone the C5. To the ones "in the know" they may look dated ( not to me though ) but to someone who has never had one and dreams of one, they will always be classics.
I'll tell you what, i was getting ready to pull the trigger on trading in my mag red 04 on a 06 Z06. But everywhere i go, i get looks, and comments about how new the car looks, and how it sounds and runs.
After putting my car along side of the silver Z06, i couldnt keep my eyes from pulling to the C5.
Outdated...as in it is an 04...yes. Looks...NO.
I almost went for a 2004 Mag Red Coupe with gray interior...got the 2004 CE coupe instead. I love Mag Red!!
