how often to you use an additive to avoid float problems?

I only use Texaco gasoline, which already contains Techron.
That is probably enough to avoid the fuel sender problems, but I add a bottle of Techron in the tank once a year, or when I change the oil.

I use one bottle of Techron ever time I change the oil and use Chevron fuel most of the time. I pay a little more that Vons, Costco or Sams Club gas but I never EVER have had the dreded "check gauges" light come one since then.

I don't bother adding anything to the tank of mine. I've had the fuel gauge problem show up a few times over the past few years, but generally speaking it was when I ran anything other than Sunoco Ultra 94. And it's never happened frequently enough that I worry about it.

I take my heads off each winter to check springs and valves. Clean as clean can be.
Now when I take some heads off of a vette that has NEVER BEEN AT WOT ( wide open throttle) and 25,000 miles + that is when I start to see build up.
Drive the cars harder, and burn all that crap out.
