He is modifying the TI's so they are louder. They will bolt right up. Sinister, didn't you go w/ Dynatech cats? know of anyone who sells that cat w/ the flange already on it to bolt up to a 4 bolt collector like the OBX and dynatech?
Dave
You are correct on the Ti mod I'm looking to get done. They have a REALLY good sound to them right now, but I hear they sound even better with the bypass mod !
Yes I did find some Dynatech cats for cheap on fleabay a while back. If I hadn't found them I was going to buy some highflow cats and have the flanges from the resonators cut and welded to the new cats.
I've had mine on for a while. I guess I can provide some pics as well. That is if you guys don't mind looking at dirty headers...
I'll check question #1 when I work on it tomorrow afternoon.
No pics of the hole but took a 1" holesaw and was a little overkill but made plenty of room..
The wires on top the passenger header 02 may be rubbing the tunnel cover slightly..
Last question no problems at all..I'm running Taylors and are not any closer to the OBX's as they were to the stock manifolds...
do taylor wires have that metal cover on them like the stockers?do you have the wires passing through this hole or just up and back down and out of that hole you made? I have a nice thick aluminum one I'd hate to cut
Pics would be great sinister
Dave
Thanks for the info for the size of the hole needed. I saw a picture of a hole cut, it was HUGE. Maybe they just did it over kill style. Anyways 1" shouldn't be a problem.
I like that idea on getting those flanges welded onto the high flow cats.

No the Taylors do not have the metal covers...The wires out of the 02's are just up and back down out of the hole...
Also another question that may be dumb but if the o2 wires in front are rubbing already, how did you get the o2 sensor in there? Did you put them in first?

While the headers are hanging and not completely bolt onto the heads is when you screw in the O2's.

There is enough room to get it turned into (the bulb part of the 02) the bung ..Its a tight fit and I didn't even think to put them into the header before I bolted them up..
So with you guys having such great luck fitment and quality, I guess I'm curious what kind of power you guys might gain from these OBX Longtubes before committing myself to a more expensive setup.

Would love to hear about your dyno results ASAP!
'03vettemaniac' had his dyno'd and here's his results...
Numbers Are In!!
Just got it dyno tuned by Charlie at RPM. Before the headers I had the Vararam, Borla Cat Backs, 3.42's and a dyno tune with RWHP 326. Now with the OBX headers and great tune by Charlie I got 356 rwhp and 365 ft-lb of torque! I asked Charlie how these headers compared with others and he said they were slightly above average in the hp gain and that the torque was the really impressive thing. I will look for my old dyno sheet and let you know the peak torque back then. If i remember right the peak torque was less than 320 ft-lb.
Looks like 30 HP more with the headers. Not bad for "cheap" headers !!
I'll be dyno tuning mine next month after I install my cam. I'll post up my results shortly thereafter.
