13 months ago they were on eBay for $42.00. supply and demand I guess.

the LEDs aren't as bright. I could tell by the reflection (or lack of) in a cabinet in front of the Vette.

I went to switchbacks for the iniqueness and they operate much cooler, won't cook the now expensive clear corners

The turn signal switches from white to amber during each on-off cycle? Sounds like it would look silly... not to mention the local cops might not like it. It may look like a emergency vehicle?

The reflector housing can make a difference in the perceived brightness of the switchbacks, too. That's why I chose the Depos. Their mosaic reflector seems to do a slightly better job with the LED's than smooth backed reflectors.

It doesn't look silly, it looks outstanding.

your right i was looking at 2 threads, this one and HID's thread and mistyped haha. i meant to say stockers not halogen if the switchbacks weren't so spendy i'd try them in my stock housings.

Depos are the way to go, they're the only clear corner with a clear diamond cut lens!

And i checked CE for a price tag on the switchbacks but didn't see one, what do these cost?

The LED's are not as bright as the OEM bulbs, but they are close. And with the clear lenses they are definitly bright enough.

The reason I started using them was I got tired of changing the OEM bulbs when they frequenty blew. They run too hot, burn the housing, and when water gets in and hits the hot bulb, poof.

Pic of what the OEM bulbs do to the top of the housing:

And the different bulbs/LEDs

I love em

Good gravy! And I thought my stock housings looked bad from the stock bulb heat damage! Yours looks like it was hit with a Star Wars laser blaster!!

And look how the base of your stock bulb is also melted and damaged from the heat.

Default Found them on Fleabay!

Just posted this in another thread and came across this thread and thought to share the news:

Do a search on Fleabay for this term: "Corvette Black Bumper Lights"

Vendor Name: mr-djm

He's selling amber-less clear corner markers with the black outline. Not 100% clear but at least it doesn't have the amber.

I found them over the weekend for $45 +$13.99 for shipping! Expect sales tax for CA orders but that's still a decent price compared to any other vendor. I ordered mine over the weekend and they just arrived. It's the real deal as pictured 100% amber-less clear lenses.

I've been looking for Clear Corner lights for my C5 for a while but didn't find any at a decent price. Most places want anywhere from $100-$165, which I'm not paying.

I called a bunch of the vendors that others have said they purchased them from and most said the same thing: DOT has contacted us and told us we can't sell amber-less markers.

It's just a matter of time before the DOT catches up to this vendor so don't walk, run! He has a couple of postings with prices ranging from $45 - $59, make sure to buy them using the $45 posting.
