That's interesting... I wonder why my switchbacks and halo LED's hyperflash when the hazards are on, then?
Not that I mind the hyperflash on the hazards at all. In fact, I think I may prefer it. I only use the hazards when having to stop abruptly for traffic on the freeway and there is nobody behind me for a large distance. I want them to see that there is something up ahead that they need to pay attention to.

I have only switchbacks, no rear LEDs. I read the posts as changing to switchbacks only with no mention of rear LEDs. The incandescents at the rear provide enough load for the hazzard circuit to function normally.
