mid america motor works has 20+ pairs left. just orded a set. if you want a pair better get soon, getting very hard to find................part # 607-131
LED replacements for the stock bulbs. Switchbacks have white and amber leds on same bulb. The whites come on when headlights are on, but they are amber when just the daytime driving lights are on, when they are amber the turn signals flash from white to amber. They are way cool.

Wow $159.99 plus shipping. They have really gone up in price. I bought mine on ebay a couple of years ago for about $100 shipped and before I bought mine they were $65 shipped.
Dumb question. We spend money on clear corners, only to put amber bulbs in them. Could white bulbs be installed to have white daytime running lights? just asking.

Think I paid less than $65/shipped for mine last year about this time.
jpl99vert~ doubtful because in most states the front turn signals have to be amber i believe. now unless you can find switchbacks that stay white with the headlights and DRL's and then turn amber with the blinker you could be fine. If i was to get clear corners i'd get the chromed over amber bulbs to keep that egg yolk color down.
i bought the clears with the black internals and amber sides a couple years ago for like $75. Man they have REALLY gone up in price.

I think the current switchbacks work perfect. amber during the day show up better than white would IMO. The bright white at night just looks awesome.

I bought a set last October- "C5 Bumper Signal Lights" (auction site), 38.00 + 12.00 shipping. I had previously bought a pair for 99.00 from a popular vendor but then proceeded to ruin 1 light so I had to re-buy the set. They were the exact same lights.

This was my solution as well. I tried the chrome ambers and they got WAY too hot.

Are the switchbacks much brighter than the stock bulbs? I ask because I am having my DRLs blacked out and am worried the stock bulbs might not be bright enough.

That's a tough one for me to answer. I can't really tell. If so it's not much brighter. It just produces a better light.
Here are my test pics. Excuse the lame halogen bulb on the side!
We are really off topic here!! Check back in my tinting thread in the general section. For you to get the full effect of these I think you need to go with the stage 2 I have pictured there. Let me know what you think.

i've been thinking of getting switchbacks for my stock housings but don't know if they'll be even as bright as the halogens or not. if they are at least as bright i'd be happy

If they're not as bright they are close, but IMO the biggest advantage the switchbacks have over the DRL's is they don't get anywhere near as hot (sometimes the DRL bulb, I think it's a 4037 bulb has a tendency to get so hot it burn a hole in the marker light housing) and the switchback will last forever (some of the earlier versions of switchbacks that autolumination sold had problems with the side LED's burning out, but the newer versions are fine)
