so the GT500's hp has 2 lbs less to push per horsepower than the FRC stock.
Winner GT500
However a 370 rwhp (which is approx. 425 at the crank using a drivetrain loss of 15%) comes out at 7.46 lbs per horsepower, so it still shows the Gt500 ahead in power/vs weight ratio.
You do realize that mustangs weight more than 1k lbs heavier than corvettes.. that is a huge weight difference.
3800+/- vs. 3300+/- is what "most" 500KR's and C5's weigh in at. Not 1000 lbs different. Though I do agree that it is a lot and could equate at around 2-3 tenths given equal HP and equal drivers.
I am still pulling for our Bow Tie brethren, so be sure to post the results.....

Ah sorry, i was going off the fact my car is 3100 and most mustangs are over 4k
And those mustangs are huge wastes of money if the goal in mind is performance.
Who is feeding you all of this BS? The factory blown Cobras are some of the cheapest cars to make fast (ever, literally) Remember the mid-80s Buick GN cars? The Supra took the crown in the 90s and the Cobra took it over in 2003. The power those cars can handle in stock form is amazing. A real auto enthusiast has to give credit where credit is due.
I've switched from Mustangs to Corvettes about three years ago and I can tell you, for a fact, that Corvettes are way more expensive to 'make fast.' It's actually painful, when I think about it.

Really? How much do your rousche stage 1,2, and 3 packages cost you? Or saleen packages? Or the supersnake package? Not only are they all overpriced where is the performance? Not only are they still slow for how much they cost, where's a nurburgring time slip? Oh wait, there isn't one because they can't handle well either.

well... looks like there is some doubts but as far as power to weight ratio is concerned i think i won there him 3950/500hp me 3174/425hp (adding ls6 intake this week so thats a few extra hp) and the most important thing is im on hoosier dr's and him stock anemic tires.
but mon i will be down to where he works and ask him to go racing so soon we can put an end to the who's gonna win ....and hopefully have a corvette celebration here

Hurry and install nitrous or a supercharger, dont tell him and give him a real *** kicking lol. Are you doing engine hp/weight?
interesting post considering ill be racing my friends dads stock 500 hopefully next thursday at irwindale 1/8 mile track
Im putting down 351 and after i put my longtubes on should be hitting around 370, very similar to yourself.
On paper, i believe your vette should come out on top. The ONLY advantage the gt500 has is more horsepower, but is also alot heavier.
If you look online at gt500 times, the best times on the 1/4 are around 12.6-12.9. I believe a stock C5 does it in 12.8, and thats w/ around 300 rwhp. With 370 (and with your d-rads) you should take em down
