Default Torn Between 2 vehicles...

Hey everybody,
Lately I have been wanting something a little different and I just want to see everybodies input on it. I currently have a 2004 Z06 and I love it. The only thing is I have been wanting abit more power and distinguishment (I want a car that nobody in my small town has..lol) There are currently 3 corvettes where I live and one is a black Z06 exactly like mine. I want to get something with a little more egdge.

Here's what I'm looking at:
A 2009 Corvette Z06
Ooooor a 2009 Dodge Viper SRT10

What do you guys think? They both have their ups and downs, I just wanna see what the public has to say..

Thanks for your input...

Heck, if I was spending close to 90k on a new viper .. I would just say what the heck and spend another 15k for a new ZR-1

Neither. For close to $90K, I would go with a lightly used Ferrari 360 Modena coupe. More curb-appeal, simply gorgeous and glorious sound-track.

Could not have said it any better.. I dont get people that spend $90K-100 on new sports cars when you can get a used Ferrari for that. do it right.... mind you the insurance might not be right

The Modena is nice and probably the most reliable Ferrari to date but, you will be dropping a grand every 6,000 miles for the Ferrari scheduled maintenance. Factor in the occasional cam belt and clutch replacement, the cost of ownership climbs considerably. If you can afford to drop that much coin, I'd go for it.

he said he wanted more power and im thinking the 360 modena's 275ft-lb is going to leave him with something less than desireable

I don’t know where the $90K figure came from but… If you’re looking for attention and you want to spend $90K, why not get a 2004/2005 Lamborghini Gallardo?!

What about a Ferrari F430? Since I have a Vette, my next dream car is an Aston-Martin DB9.

But yes, for the price, Vipers are rare.

I think that once you get to the 100K+ range you become a clean hands hotrodder, You pay for the car ,the mods , the maintenance. You worry about the warranty and not putting alot of miles on for a better trade in.

You're kidding, right? Simply put -- No! Not on that car (F360). The last Ferrari that a home mechanic could reasonably work on was the F355, and even that is a bit of a stretch. The older 308s and 328s are easy to service yourself. The 348 gets a bit complex. 355, you really need to know what you're doing. 360 and up, if you don't have the computer diagnostic equipment and all of the specialty Ferrari tools, forget about it. And you probably can't source most of the parts anyway.

Since everyone is spending your money so freely, I'll jump in here too. The F360 is a great car, and there are a lot of them available (relatively) since the real Ferraristas all want the 430s and 599s. So great buys out there right now on 360s. Also, some steals on slightly used Aston Martins, Bentleys, Corvette Z06s, you name it. It's a buyers' market right now.

By the way, if anyone is interested in a vintage Ferrari, I have a 1978 308 GTS (Magnum P.I. car) that I'm trying to get rid of. Excellent car, great condition, fun to drive, and if you want to attract attention, this one is a head-turner! PM me.

...or the repair bills/maintenace that comes with these exotics...

My vote is for the VIPER.

Yugo for distinguishment issue. Really stands out. Power sucks though.

Sorry, never understood the stand out quotient part of owning a particular car. Except................I love it when a friend walks up and says "oh man, a Z!" Most people don't know a coupe from Z. Those in the know.........know. That's the crowd I prefer to "distinguish."

Viper? Everyone I know sputters about them being less than reliable. Eye catcher for sure. Sitting there............not running.

Ferrari? Unless you have an Italian mechanic in that small town, you're in for a world of hurt.

My vote is new Z. Impress the other Vettes.

Drove a viper when I bought my 2001 Z06. Not sure if the suspension has been overhauled. However, no comparison, except fast

x2 if u buy a zr1 it will hold its value alot more than a z06....but if it had to be between those two i would go with the viper hands down... u get a z06 most people wont even know its a z06 they will think its just another vette....and plus the viper is a panty dropper
