A Light problem

'02 Coupe
I've got a problem with the passenger side light. Click the switch, both lights open up with no problem. Go to shut the lights off, the driver's side closes with no problem, however, the passenger side closes and the motor keeps "grinding" away for around another 10 seconds - AFTER the light is down!
What's wrong, and how can I fix it? (Sorry if it is a dumb question, but I've never had this happen before.......)
