I'd offer 19k cash for the 2004. It's winter, 'verts aint sellin' like they would in the summer. Expect to pay about 20.5k

While I'm not a fan of a black car, the '04 does seem like the better buy to me. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Actually I prefer the fall and spring temps for top down driving here in the sunshine state vs. dead of summer. It's too hot and humid during the summer, rather now it is perfect weather. My top spends more time down not in the summer. (That applied to my C4 coupe too at the time. Especially with the glass top, to grab the the top and remove it after it had been in the summer sun for a while could give you burns.)

Actually if you check NADA, KBB, or any of the others those numbers are on the low side. I bet the 30K '01 must have over $5K bump in price for the mileage alone. I know my 46K '01 has a 4.7K bump for its mileage.

I have my '01 Vert for sale but it is listed for 22K and I have no problems waiting for the right buyer. The prices you are seeing are very good deals on both. Although I'm partial to red (Magnetic Red) I would be biased towards the torch red. I had a black C4 for a short time and it is true they remain clean for 10 minutes or less. Even the dark polo green C4 didn't hide dirt so well but I have notice the mag red is a little better. Gray or silver is the best color to mask not being show room ready.

Good luck. Have you inquired about the details on these vehicles like what recalls and issues have been addressed in them? I'm thinking specifically about the electronic column lock. Of course neither would be effected if they are automatic which I cannot remember from your comments whether they were or not. How are the tires on them and what brand/model? You said equally optioned, are they both Z51 cars?

Good luck with your purchase.

They are basically the same cars. I would get the one in the best condition. I've got an "01 and love it.

They are both strong colors (I don't like either one) you must have a preference? You have to live with one for a while, make sure you get what you want.
I'd lean to the 04.

04, especially considering the oil burning issues with 01. Well documented on here.

Don't take a chance with the 01, I bought used 5 yrs ago(99) and wouldn't even consider an 01 for that reason alone..

Both are great prices, see who goes lower but in the end I would go with the 04

Tomorrow is the big day....I guess the '04 is out in front....if it was Mag. Red....it would be easier....but as long as its not triple black down here I guess the black/oak will work

Both are attractive color combos. Both are priced right, neither is high and I would not expect you to get much lower from the sellers if at all. Both are relatively uncommon color combos. The biggest thing that would differentiate the two cars is condition and ownership history. If either car is one owner or has had fewer owners, I would lean to it. Based upon the mileage, neither has been a daily driver, but with lower miles in a few more years the 01 has been even more of a special occasion car. Black with oak is a very classy combo, but I would slightly lean to the red with oak 01 which is a great looking combo and far less common than red with black.

Best of Luck in you decision.

Be sure to check the carfax.
I'd go with the newer car, assuming all else is pretty much equal. Black is beautiful, however like many said, it's tough to keep clean looking over 10 minutes.

Make a decision and never look back,,unless you come in to some extra bucks,, and buy then both...

I'd go with "red" one as black cars are a PIA to take care of.

REZ1

I'm curious how you came up with REZ1 name. I'm in the Intermodal Drayage business and much of the intermodal equipment is controlled by a management company called REZ1. Any relation?
