Looking at towing my motorcycle with my 02 C5. There is already a hitch designed for the car professionally installed on the car. The previous owner use to tow a small trailer to car shows with his equipment that he used for photograghy and setting up the car for show. The trailer that I will be using is set up to tow the motoercycle only. Basically a rail with tie down points and thats it. What are your thoughts and suggetions. I really would enjoy traveling to the mountailns and having as far as I am concerned the best of both worlds to cruise around while there.
Thanks,
Greg

I've seen pics of owners towing trailers, personal water craft, etc. They report no problems. That said, my owners manual states the Corvette was not designed for nor intended for towing a trailer. That's good enough for me not to do it.

If I could afford a matching Sebring Silver Paint job on my Seadoo XP I would have already towed it to the lake! Keep the weight down and you'll be fine! Under 1K
So the entire time you are towing this bike around, you are missing out on the intended experience of driving a corvette. You might as well put the bike in the back of a pickup and drive.
Am I missing something?

Maybe missing that I enjoy my bike as much as I enjoy the vette. I was just wanting to get the vette and the bike to a central location (like the Dragon) and have the option of enjoying it with both vehicles rather than just the one. Never meant that I would loose valuable time enjoying the vette, just looking to enjoy both.

You Know what, some of these guys would tell you if you had a tank and it didn't come from the factory with a trailer hitch that you couldn't tow anything with it. I had a 63 split window fulie in 1969 and towed a motorcycle in an enclosed trailer from West Palm Beach, Florida, to Dallas, then on to Denver, Colorado, stayed there several months, and went onto Chicago, it had a home made trailer hitch and believe me I didn't baby the car or cut it any slack, and it never missed a beat. I can tell you first hand that 63 was in no way the quality car a C-5 is. Go for it, and enjoy the car and use it any damn way you desire.
I've considered towing a jetski but wondered what the hitch looks like on the Vette. Does anyone have a pic they can post up so I can see what it looks like?
Don't think much out of the box, do you? Not being a smart a$$, just think that if we didn't ever try things that people or print says it won't work, where would we be in this world today. Just think, the F-4 was proof that if you give a brick enough power even it would fly. Thanks for your input.

its not that its not possible, its that fact your trying to tow something with a vette....
Ignore the nay sayers. I don't have a hitch for the C5 but I added one to my C4. When I relocated from Ct. to Az. I shipped the unimportant stuff and drove the Vette towing the bike behind it:

So true. The good thing about a free Country is you get to do what you want (providing its legal) Enjoy the Vette and the bike
As for the point about the F4. I have 2000 hours proving that fact
I knew some one here would have a personal relationship with the F-4. Use to live just outside an airbase in NC and they had F-4's stationed there. Now working in the aviation industry I can appreciatethe engineering and raw power they were built with. Spent some time at Brize Norton with the C-17's a couple of years ago, I'm sure you know where that area is in the Cotswalds. Thanks for your service and your reply.

Reason: Location
I pulled a 17 ft Dutchman Tunnel Hull boat behind a 69 T top and it pulled fine. Besides that it was a great looking set up and got much positive comment.
