Once you've installed a CLB, it's impossible for the CL to engage. The CLB plugs into where the CL actuator would normally plug into on the harness. The CL must be unplugged to install the CLB, so therefore it cannot engage at all once the CLB is installed.
Is the CLB something easily visible? So I can see if previous owner had this installed?

You'll need to pull the knee panel down from under the steering wheel to see if it's been installed. You may be able to just loosen it with the two screws under the dash (don't pull hard) and you should be able to see the 4 wire harness is connected to a small box approx 1.5" x 2" x 1" in size (a little bigger than a match box).

Aside from that, no it's not visible anywhere unless the installer purposely put it outside the knee panel. But I really doubt they'd do that. (That'd be like installing the security alarm brain in plain site.)

You're looking for a small electronics box similar to the one in this picture: (The cigarette-lighter wire will not be there. It's only used for installation)

Noisy *** sumbitches. Always something tinking, clinking, whining, vibrating, rattling- you name it.

The valve trains are crap. You can look at the "ad me to the list" thread.

The 02 has a heftier lope to the cam- valvetrain is noisy like a freakin sewing machine.

The Ti's are always rattling- the clutch rattles when not engaged.

Now, to the good things: They look cool. They go fast.

I have a CDL too. That has actually saved me in court instead of being a hinderance.

02 is a bad year huh? that sucks. looking at a 02 z06 with 66k miles. owner said the valve fell off when he was driving to work. then extended warranty covered it with brand new engine at the dealer. didn't know they have that, I tho extended warranty cover like used or rebuilt engine but brand new? and also it's a 14 years old car. not sure, I will need to take a look at the car in person. any other things I should look for in 02 z06?

asked if any problems he said none, is that possible on a 14 years old car? he did say he took good care of it.

Those are the main issues that you'll face. If you're handy with a wrench and have a place to work on the car, most of them can be fixed relatively easily.
I can do basic maintenance, but or those pretty sure there are helpful vid on youtube to help you do it right? also how about tools, don't need expensive tools for those?

useful post, read a page and half and almost all no problems until this one
