That happens to be the best color combo for sure, isn't almost the same as the AE edition?
When I went C5 Verte shopping in 2004, I was looking for the Mag Red/Black Interior-Top combo. It's a great color and one of my favorites. However, when I saw my Medium Spiral Gray Metallic Convertible with Black Interior/Top under the showroom lights I was sold!
I have always liked the darker interiors as I think they hide dirt/scuff marks better, however there are many two-tone interiors that look fantastic.
She's got her car with an auto,,so I say get a stick if that's what YOU really want. If she really wants to drive it,,,she can learn to drive a stick,,,it's NOT rocket science!! My wife has been driving a stick for over 33 years now,,and LOVES our FRC. Sell HER car and get and auto vert IF that's what SHE wants. My wife also handles the budget,,but she still lets me have my wants when it comes to the vettes!!
I have a quadruple Black Vert and I agree will of the postings!!!!
But in the name of full disclosure, you should be aware of:
WINDOW TIP IN
CONVERTIBLE TOP ADJUSTMENT
WEATHERSTRIPPING
All of which contribute to crazy wind noise when the windows are in the up position It seems getting the wind noise to go away is more of an art than a science.
Lastly - the back window has been been known to fall out. Most dealers will tell you that a top replacement is required. Others (myself included) have been able to reseal the window.
How easy, it is a piece of cake, flip the two latches, lift the front vertical, then the back vertical, push the button under the tonneau and it releases and puts the windows down lift it up fold the back end in followed by the front and it folds up nicely. Close the tonneau cover. Takes less than 2 minutes. No effort.
I'm a BLUEs kind of guy and convertible was the only choice for me. I got mine just for cruising so the automatic is great for me.
Navy Blue, White top, Gray interior.
96 vert red/black and 00 vert yellow/black. My vettes are not my DD's and for the most part do not see bad weather. I love the vert. The only other vette I would consider is the Z06. I would not get a base C5 coupe.

Vert is the way to go!
Also don't feel bad about the A4, just do like I did. Upgrade to an RPM stage IV auto, 3:42 gears, high stall converter and get a tune! You won't even think about a MN6 after that!
Have had both coupe & roadster ....... the wife & I like the roadster best, we don't mind the little bit of extra wind noise and we have no problem communicating to each other w/ the top down.
Room wise ... we took a 9 day road trip on RT 66, the later part of '08. w/ suitcases & a cooler ..... have room for all.
When we bought our '04 roadster, we looked at ALOT ... decided on the Medium Spiral Gray w/ the light gray interior .... beautiful color combo!

I wouldn't trade my vert for anything
Hi
Should l really be concerned about the above. I probably will wind up with an 02/03 low mileage vert.
And besides driving it, what should l look for?
The verts are really sharp looking, a lot of style points. But the coupe is also a better looking GT.
