Actually yes people have not me personally but you should do some reading and if you want to do that why do it with a z06 that's built for the road race?
I answered that question above. Lighter and more rigid. Some people just like the roofline of the FRC. Regardless, there is a functional reason people do automatic swaps on Z06s. Tell me again who is running a 9.50 index with a stick. And I'd like to see you walk up to a vet who lost use of his legs in combat at a car show and tell him his automatic Z06 with hand controls is lame.

Reason: not needed
There was a tuner, I'll spare him the embarrassment by not posting his name. But he got on here and made a very long winded thread about how his shop was the only shop in the entire world that was chosen to tune the first and only off GM factory made C6Z06 automatic convertible, and after his tune, it ran in the 10:22 at 157 mph on street tires. He claimed it was made for a GM higher up and also came with a full factory GM warranty. Of course we went to it, and proved it was a very well put together conversion. Fame was wrong ect... Bottom line, and automatic Z06, either C5 or C6, will have been converted by an after market shop. And yes, there are stick drivers consistently in the 9's. Look up video's from RobZ.

I'm aware. I was at the track when he broke into the 9s NA on stock cubes. It was incredible. Blew my goddamned mind. But, let's be honest, that's the exception, not the rule. 97% of drivers are not going to be able to consistently run in the 9s. Which is why the 4L conversion makes sense for them.
I for one, would love to put a auto in my car. I can shift, but with the car on the bottle, i would like to have two hands on the wheel haha. Its like to spin just a bit, lol. but oh well ill stick to missing gears haha.
