XSPower Longtube Header Thread
Ordered mine over Labor Day weekend and had them by the following Friday. Super fast shipping! They were packaged very well and everything I needed was included, although I opted to use different gaskets and band clamps instead of the u-bolt clamps for the x-pipe.
Me and a friend installed them at his shop over the weekend in about five hours. The driver side went in super easy from the bottom but the passenger side was a bit of a pain. Ended up having to remove the valve cover, unbolt the starter, loosen the motor mounts, jack up the engine and wrestle with the a/c line to get it in from the top. Everything else lined up perfectly and installed with ease.
I am running Borla straight pipes and was concerned that the headers would make my already loud exhaust note unbearable. Surprisingly, I now have much less drone, and it actually seems quieter under 2500 rpm. Above that it's crazy loud, but I love the sound. I no longer have that "motor boat" gurgle at idle, either. I'll post up a video in the next couple of days.
I planned on taking more pics but was so eager to get them installed that I forgot all about it until the end. This pic of my buddy after we finished the install will have to do:

Anyone who is on the fence about these should go for it! They look like well-made headers, everything fits well, and they sound great!
One question, though: My #3 plug wire is touching the #1 primary. Has anyone had a problem with this? Should I be worried?

Thanks again!

Rocco

For those that haven't installed theirs yet, both slide in from the bottom. Only the starter has to be unbolted. There are differences from car to car, header to header but you should not have to remove any valve covers, ground straps, loosen any motor mounts or jack the engine up. You will have to move the AC line towards the fender well for clearance. Other than that, they slide in with minimal effort. I installed mine with the car on 5ton jack stands in the front and 3 ton in the rear. The front stands were at the lowest setting (16" high) and that was plenty of room to do the job. Overall, I think the most difficult part was unbolting the factory manifolds. GM uses awesome loctite. Hey Jon, Any news on the 3" catback?
3" catback will be ready in November!

Anyway, they are in, and that's all that matters now!

Do I remember you saying that you guys are working on 1 7/8 headers also or am I incorrect?
Going to install them soon....
Just a few questions:
How high (about) does the car have to be off the ground to install when using jack stands?
Stock exhaust manifold gaskets are the recomendation?
Thanks !!!
