Hi All

I was confused in my review on point #4:

4) I told the shop about the collector clamp bolts loosening up. Upon inspection, they didn't like the clamps at all. They offered me a higher quality set for $25 which I took them up on

The clamps they didn't like were the ones connecting the pipes containing the cats to the midpipes that goes to the cat back pipes. Those are the ones they upgraded. I know this because when driving home tonight I started hearing what sounded like big rocks hitting the underside of the car followed by rattling. Upon inspection underneath, I lost both of the bolts to the clamp that connect the collectors to the cat pipe. So now just the clamps without the bolts are there (explains the rattling). Same as what has been described by others. So heed the advice by tstar and RamAirTA above and take care of this on install.

Anyone know what size bolts these are so I can go grab a couple of replacements?

Thanks

Just got your voicemail Kevin, sorry I was driving across the state and had the phone in the console... on vibrate, whoops! Anyways as far as size of bolts, I will try to get the EXACT dimensions if you desire but anything that fits through and is long enough will work!

I don't need exact, but give me something to ask for when I visit the hardware store. Thanks.

Any chance you can just pull one of the bolts from the car and have them replicate it? In the mean time I am waiting to hear back from XSPower

Right now, I only have some wood pieces to drive the front wheels up on to see the bolts had come out. Couldn't get far enough under to even really see the bolts on the other side as I was looking to check the size. Just enough to get a visual on what happened. Only looking to jack it up once to get this fixed. So I hope you can get me a size for to buy so I have a chance of getting it back together tongiht. Guess it is time to read all the proper jacking method posts.

Try a 3/8" Bolt about 3" long... I'm guessing but that sounds about right, I think it'll be a bit too long but that's better then too short!

Easiest and best method I have found is to place your jack under the front crossmember with a piece of wood between the jack and crossmember. This will raise the front and then place jackstands on each side of the crossmember, remove jack and proceed to do the same in the rear. You can see where I place my jackstands here.... http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-t...oval-pics.html

That was a catted kit I believe. The cats and the resonators are VERY similar in exterior appearance, however looking in the inside you can obviously tell the difference

And thanks for the comment, I have been loving the black "halo" since I had it done!

I am about 2.5 weeks in with the XS Power LT headers. They just are damn fun. Loving the combo with the Corsa Indy's. Can keep it quiet if I need to and anything over 3k on the RPM guage the sound is really aggressive. No drones at any RPM's when cruising.

Just watch those collector bolts and make sure you have enough O2 caps if you are removing any. Double nut and locktite red the bolts as suggested. I have been good since my originals fell off.

Also did the plugs+wires, dyno tune, C6 Z06 sways and a tunnel plate at the same time. The car is soooo much better overall now.

Thanks to RPM Performance in Garner, NC. Great shop there. They know how to take care of their customers and do excellent work.

When I get mine I am thinking about getting them coated. Would you mind sharing what Jet Hot charged you?
