You guys have some some amazing work here. Are thee any picturs of the beam patten, cutoff, light dispersion?
Thanks Mike!! Good to hear from you! Thanks for the email, I'll shoot you some pictures...
Speaking of Pictures. SCM_Crash has graciously agreed to allow his Z to remain at the fabricators one more week for refining the shroud design. Input and photoshop examples are encouraged and welcome...
Huge "Thank You" to Matt/SCM_Crash!!! Mahalo Bradda...
Dammit JW, now I want to paint mine! (Not really... I've got enough to do without adding another project!)
Mtndv8 - How exactly is the shroud going to be held in place? When I was first attempting to put my lights on, it didn't look like you have access to the rear screw that the stock shrowd is held in place with.

Not exactly sure yet James.
My feeling is a new hole will be needed.
So far the input I've received indicates folks would like;
-the turtlenecks evened up with the end of the projector bezels...
-the upper edge of the shroud evened up to a thinner mating line at the front edge of the lid...
-the sides of the shroud better radiused or curved more evenly...
No problem. I miss my car so much. I can't wait to drive her again. I was hoping that driving around my dad's Vette in the meantime would keep me from missing my Z so much, but I was wrong... My car is more fun.
I was expecting the shrouds to be rounder in the center like in the photoshop pics. Was that not possible?

One more week...
"Too Boxy" is kind of the concensus right now, however the fabricator says there just isn't the room to expose more of the bezels, so the photoshopped look we all like isn't truly possible.
That said we should be able to encourage him to even up the fronts of the turtlenecks as well as adding more radius to the sides. I think the results should at least have the styling cues of the photoshopped version...
This si about the clearance you have with a flat plane.

I did that with : a binder, three pots of coffee and two packs of cigarettes Admitedly the oem mounting points are problematic, but I was fairly confident we could wind up with more of the side bezel on the lights showing.
Just love the way they look.
Just throwing it out there, but tis is what the sheet would look like flat prior to bending for this type of look

Might it be possible to start with that and layer over it to build up ?

Based on the pictures I think the turtle necks are going to create fitment nightmares - I think you will find there will be quite a bit of variation in position and alignment in the installed projectors. I would say lose the turtle necks. If you want to make it really simple use an oval cut out for both lights instead of individual holes for each light and if water intrusion is a problem put a rubber or neoprene sheet in the oval cut out with holes to slip over the barrels of the individual projectors. Just a thought.
Have waited and waited. Bottom line is that actually being able to see at night is fantastic. howerver -
Have waited this long, lights are installed, would prefer to wait rather than put something that looks unnatural. Don't compromise the look at this point. Turtle neck my **** - go for what should have been the OEM look

I've never been big on halos, but we've had a lot of requests for them so I thought I would experiment a bit. The hard part will be figuring out where to route the wires out of sight. The shroud will make this easier.
I can get them without the plastic piece. I figured this would be a better option since rocks love to hit the headlights.

Doug, just so I'm clear on what you're saying. Are you agreeing with Joe's suggestion to consider eliminating the t-necks?

I agree with the consensus to smooth out the lines, and leaving a bit of bezel is a good thing. Also agree that now is not the time to rush. I'll wait. Take the time needed to get it right.
