I bought this one last July, it had 62.5K miles on it and I gave $16,500
for it. So they can be found if you keep looking.

Very Nice! Well, the price on the one I want is at $17,000. We don't have a signed agreement, just left a deposit on it. I am meeting with the owner again tomorrow. The starting price was $19,500, but he dropped it to $17,500. It needs new tires and the rims look like they need refinished or replaced, otherwise I don't see anything that jumps out at me. Don't know if I'd be insulting the seller if I try to get him down more or not...

There is no such thing as insulting a seller... Tell him what you'll give and walk if you don't get it. There are more cars than buyers.... If he moved from $19,500, he wants to sell it. Good luck!

Just think when you get it you have to go buy new tires $1000 +/- some and then if the rims need replaced that can be between $400-$3000 depending on what you buy. I would bring that up and see about getting him down a little more if possible. JMO

<<<<<<< Bought my '01 vert last June for 17,500 with 78k miles on it, drivers seat needs a little work but it was what I wanted, the former owner took her on some long drives (Bowling Green and the Corvette museum) and he was the second owner with all records since he owned her....and local. I considered it a fair price.....good luck

I think alot depends on the owner, his or her finacial status and what he or she has experienced with the car. For example, I bought my 01 with just 3 miles on the odometer. With taxes and registration fees, the total was almost $52,000. I know that it has been extremely well cared for but despite the incredible deals that others have garnered, I would never sell my car for $17,000. I would be the one walking away because I put so much of my hard-earned money into it.
I guess if I made $200,000 a year or were in big financial trouble, I might think differently but as it is, nobody "steals" my Maggie!

Ask seller to allow for new tires, Price is not bad if the condition is realy good. Also when buying a corvette I use the pracitice of asking for maintaince records. You see most corvette owners keep a record of all maintaince for doc. If no records were kept then i can tell its only a avrage car. If he or she has all records it will be a pristene car. Even a p.o.s. can look good with a detail job. Anyways good luck with your search.

I think the price is a bit high for a 75K mile car - especially one that needs new tires - that's $600-1300 or more in cost you are looking at. If the car is one you are really interested in, then I'd offer them around $15.5-16K and see what they say.

They had maintained it to perfection and had everything done just like clock work even down to multiple cooling system flushes, brake fluid replacement, trans serviced and on and on.

It still had the original brake pads on the car when I got it and I decided that it was time for a brake job. To my amazement the pads could have easily gone another 10-20K miles and the rotors were barely worn and no scoring or warping.

I have owned about 25 Vettes and have found that miles is not the killer it is poor maintenance or abuse. If I cannot see a clear verifiable maintenance record on a car I will not buy it no matter what the mileage shows.

Here are a couple of pics I took about a month ago of the car.
