Default Wreck - Pics

What started out as a glorious day at the beach turned into one of the worst days I've had in a long time....

A bonehead in a bobtail truck (filled with eggs!) was going about 70 mph in the # 3 lane on the w/b 78 fwy... I was in the # 2 lane @ about 60, the truck being ahead of me (about 50 feet) on my right...

I see # 3 lane traffic slowing ahead of the truck... The truck locks it up--and I accelerate to get past the potential disaster... well, next thing I know, the truck is losing control with it's front end partially into my lane...

I can't swerve or move left--cars there...

I think I can time it to dive-thru the ever-closing opening in front of me, so I PUNCH IT HARD!!!

Great!!! I have timed it well--I pass the truck's front (see the cab pass by out my psgr window)...

I am almost ready to celebrate my victory in a close-call when WHAM--the truck's rear end fish-tails into my right rear quarter panel and also rips off my rear fascia!!

Red plastic flying thru the air at 60 mph on a freeway full of traffic!! Bobtail almost flips... Damn--what a mess!!

No damage to the truck---it's lift-gate support is all that hit me...

I guess now it's a scrambled-egg truck!!

I drove it home... ran OK, but lots of DIC messages (service this/that/and the other)....

here are the pics: Thanks for reading... Suggestions on repairs???

Ouch! Sorry to hear (see) about your accident. Glad you're OK and maintaining a sense of humor. By the looks of the damage, I'm thinking Tigershark and rear fender flares!

Make sure that the repair shop is your choice and not the insurance and make sure they use OEM parts unless you go aftermarket as mentioned above!

Also make sure you're alignment is still good.

Wow there is a ton of unused trunk space back there
Seriously though that sucks man, as I was reading I thought it was going to end a lot worse than it did. Glad you made it out OK and still have your sense of humor in tact
Keep us posted on the repairs.

I am very glad that you are OK.

You ask for "Suggestions on repairs???"

Tiger Shark Rear .........
Wide Body Rear Kit ......... One of the Forum Vendors has a sale on now

Send a "Thank You Note" to the truck driver for helping you pay for the sweet mods.

Default lemon to lemonaide

What could be better - your fine - no one was hurt and you can end up with a wide body and tiger shark rear end. Enjoy the drink!

Sorry to hear about your car, but I'm much more glad to hear you and any passenger is ok...

I agree with the above. Why not add a new Tigershark rear, or Specter Werkes

Specter Werkes is my favorite...

You can also start asking the Corvette recycle places for parts in your color ! You might be lucky and find what you need !
