Sorry to hear that man, I just went through that myself mine wasnt as bad and mine was $5k. Took me a month to get mine back though. Good luck with the repairs and battling insurance co. and body shop.
You have got to be one of the coolest people I have ever heard of. If that had been me, I don't know what my reaction would have been after seeing the rear of my vette torn off by some yokel. My respects, sir, for your calm demeanor, your great sense of humor as a good example how all of us should behave when things go really bad. Glad you're ok, now let's get that car back on the road ASAP.
That sucks man sorry to see that happen to you. At least on the bright side your tips are still level Im glad you are ok and it should be a easy fix corvette recycling had some panels your color last time i checked

Thanks--but it's hard to get angry when you are in a state of shock!!
Funny: my blood pressure is usually about 110 /78--at the hospital it was 159/130... I guess it was from the near loss of a loved one (my Vette)....
I feel your pain, when I crashed mine back in the spring I was so depressed I had to see a shrink. But he referred me to another DR and found out I had very out of whack testerone levels and a few other things that I did not know. I am now feeling better than I have in 15years and have lost 95 pounds since march. The low testerone made me have no energy so I just kept putting on weight. I have gone from a size 46 jeans to a 40.
My car is finally back together and looks perfect although it did take several trips back to the shop but they fixed everything I pointed out.
Mine was a 98 and the damage was $15,000 They said it was totaled but I argued with them and the insurance decided to agree to fix it because of its sentimental value to me. I think me crying when they told me that they wanted to total it helped sway their decision.
Just be glad you or no one else was hurt and the car can be fixed.
If mine could be I know yours can.
I'm sorry for your loss. But it looks like you are safe to have the car repaired. I too, was in a minor accident and the car was repaired by County Corvette Inc. here in West Chester, PA and they did such a fantastic job YOU CANNOT TELL the car ever had so much a a scratch ! Good Luck !
