Got My Very First Vette
Also... I had my first issue with the vette. The passenger side window decided not to go up when I came home in the afternoon and I realized the door lock was not responding either. So I spent a lot of time reading different threads on here and figured out that by moving the wiring harness in the door that all of a sudden everything worked perfectly again. I'll take some time tomorrow to take a look at the connector and make sure all the wires are sealed and everything is clean.
I also just bought all the things I need to do a little maintenance/touch ups on the car this next weekend. I want to make sure everything running smoothly and plus this gives me piece of mind.
Amsoil Torque-Drive Synthetic Automatic Transmission Fluid - 1 Gallon
Amsoil Limited Slip Additive - 1 4oz bottle
Amsoil Severe Gear 75W-90 - 2 Quarts
Amsoil Series 600 DOT 4 Racing Brake Fluid - 3 12oz bottles
Mobile 1 Synthetic Oil
Wix Fuel Filter
MSD Super Conductor 8.5mm Red Spark Plug Wires
AC Delco 41-110 Spark Plugs
Column Lock Bypass
CAGS Eliminator
MGW Short Shifter (I honestly don't like the feel of the stock shifter at all)
That's all I can think of at the moment but it'll help me sleep better at night knowing everything is cared for. I am looking forward to installing the shifter. I just am not a fan of the stock shifter. I don't like the length of the throws or the feel of the shift's. I feel like I have to be forceful yet the shifter feels so flimsy lol. For instance today, I drove it out and when I was leaving the parking lot, I "thought" it was in reverse. It sure felt like it from what I could tell. Then I gave it some gas and I heard the most awful noise of grinding telling me that no... it wasn't all the way in.... That has happened to me 2 times while owning it, not so happy about that. So I am hoping this new shifter will give me solid, precise shifts and shorten the throw quite a bit so that I don't go "searching" for gears or not knowing if it's fully in gear with fear of breaking the flimsy stock shifter lol.
Other than that everything is amazing and I'm glad to be here. Thanks!

Enjoy, be safe...and remember to WAVE
Learning the car is the biggest thing. These cars are really well built machines and taking the time to learn the in's and out's is going to be my main focus for a while. I also just want to add that with this being my first Vette, I have to admit I have gained a HUGE respect for the car. I have always loved them and dreamed of owning one and every time I saw one on the road, I would instantly be in awe.. but really, after owning one and driving it and feeling that "feeling" that you get when you give it some gas and you just feel the engine trying to pull itself away from the car and other times when theres a corner on a back road and you accelerate through and feel the grip it has on the street and you just feel so planted... It really is a car that deserves the respect that it gets. It definitely has mine. I think that's why I'm glued to my window looking out at it

Last thing, definitely wont forget to wave
