I agree. Plus you never see people bitch and moan about installing Z06-inspired front fascia fog light screens which IMO is way more common.

Here are some pics of mine with MY mods. I like them and could care less what other people think. I do not live my life to please other people and their opinions are just that ---theirs.

It's an important distinction that separates us from the smart car.

Here's an idea. How about more fog lights? Three per side. Hell yeah.

I have seen these mods both at the show, and here on C/F

I'm sure I am going to offend some people on here, but here goes.

1. Badges- If your car is not a Z06, dont put z06 badges on it
2. Hydrocarbon- If you cant get the real stuff why bother
3. stock C6 rims on a C5.
4. ipod cables coming out of your head unit.
5. Tires sticking out of the fenderwells due to improper backspacing on the rim
6. Yellow and Red dont match unless you work for McDonalds
7. Z06 ducts on coupe (with stock brakes)
8. Mismatching interior colors
9. Murals painted on your car
10. Stick on wing.

I'm sure that there is more.. but my head is starting to hurt.
is there such a thing as "REAL" Hydrocarbon ???

Default Take a break!

Starts off as a rant and receives many other rants. Didn't realize there was that much vette-rage taking place.

So lets concentrate on all the positives and let each other enjoy having a nice car. I did enjoy some the comments especially expressing what they personally like without trying to put someone else down. I'll also bet the vast majority of cars were not bone stock and that most were fantastic and displayed a real pride in their ride.

500 cars on a McDonald's parking lot??? Pavilions cars show?? Yellow/Red McDonald's colors???

As far as the 50+ and appearance now your really crossing the line. Ops!

I can only wonder where car development would be if it wasn't for hotrodders back in the day (prob some of the 50 and over crowd that bitch about the younger guys now) taking chances and doing something different with their cars.
I say, if is doesn't endager your life, or more importantly, someone elses who gives a rosey rats rear end. It is just a car, a lifeless piece of fiberglass, plasic and metal that depriciates daily. Have some fun, live a little, and smile.

That being said, I am going to go detail my car and have a beer. It is 60 and sunny here in Florida and I have the day off.

I happen to have C6 Z06 chrome repro wheels on my C5 coupe. I am thinking about adding the Z06 brake ducts also, and as far as I know the brakes on a coupe and the ones on a Z06 are the same, with the exception of the calipers are red on the Z06. So there is one you missed and that is all they coupes and roadsters running around with red calipers. I also have a (as you put it) a stick on spoiler not a wing, but the SPL low profile spoiler. I also have one piece of Hydro Carbon and that is the radiator shroud. That is because I cannot find one in CF. There are the 2 piece covers, but I did not want that. All the other engine dress up is CF.

Every one of us that drive C5's are not purest. Let’s get real here, these cars are not collectable at this time and I am not sure they will ever be except for maybe the FRC's and the Pace cars and again that is only a maybe.

If it is your car do what you want to it. Alot will like the mods & again alot will not but it is your car......

The craziest mod ever done is by some C4 owners doing the conversion to make their C4 look like a C5.
