That red is a stunner. My grandson wants to put pinstripes down the side of mine but I said no. Let's just let each other set up his car the way he likes. NASCAR sets their up the way they like them, so why don't we all?
Uh really... Lets see... I have a bunch of 10 second time slips and probably more time driving on a track than you have spent watching NASCAR.
But no road corse time slips So first off yes the Corvette brakes suck ***** if you drive it like a man on a track. They are completely useless after three laps of hard racing, you may as well be driving your car full speed into a mound of melted marshmallows because it'll end the same way, not well.
Lets get back to the issue at hand, bad mods... I came from the import world and had a fast as hell Supra. Everywhere you looked was rice, asian rice, euro rice, redneck rice, wigger rice you name it if it said Uncle Ben's it was on the cars. I had to get out of that game. Now I see the same thing going on with Corvettes... do we really need more than 15 Corvette logos on our cars guys? Really? Do we really need a "Dragon Corvette" (go google it) And come on even Lambo doesn't do Lambo doors on all its cars, even they see it as played out. I guess the point is there is class and there is rice. I think Glenn is just feeling a little disappointed that the Corvette (America's Sports Car) is being turned into a riced out turd the same way as if your neighbors placed plastic flamingos in their weed infested front lawn it would devalue your home...
I for 1 also like subtle mods best. That said who the h377 are you to decide what someone else can do to their car. Why do you care. These are never going to be collectible cars as they made way too many of them. Might as well collect F150s. Live and let live dude.
2010 = 12 Shows - 14 Awards - 2 Best of Show
Crazy Mods I am ok with it
You must have some pretty weak competition in Cali, cause that looks like a$$. Its cars like yours that made me create this thread in the first place. Thank you for proving my point
Your car has at least 6 of the points I made in my first post.. Including the faux split window

Its not that I am the mod police, I am just not one to participate in a circle jerk of telling someone how great their modification is, when I do not agree that it looks good. Do what you want to your car. It just amazes me what passes for a quality modification these days.
Just because you can, doesn't mean you should

I bought mine used and the calipers are red. I did not know it was not the way they came as its not a Z06. I am going to go pull it out into the driveway and burn it to the ground. After all according to the OP its a POS.

Wow! Only 6, I need to try harder.
I have won out of state.
Vette Fest - Boise, ID 2008
Cars by the Bay - Coos Bay, OR ( 2007 2nd, 2010 1st )
Oh! I also DNGAS what others think. I enjoy my car.
only problem I have is with badging. If you want to get an "LS1" badge that looks like a "Z06" badge...then that's ok I guess. but to put a z06 tag or on a coupe just makes you looks stupid...
I mean honestly think about it. Everyone that is a car guy, (even ricers) know the diff between a z06 and standard coupe.

That's what they said about the '57 chevy, 63 split window, 64,65,66 mustang, 67 vette, 69 lt1 and so forth. Collectible "American" cars did not become collectibles because of the number made or wasn't made, but by their popularity and demand in the later years. If you're that good that you can tell this already, you need to be on wall street. I grew up with those cars and they were modded & raced to the hilt, just like the cars today. The modds today were not available back them. In 1962 you could buy a '57 chevy vert for $500-$600. I know because I did. It was just a chevy that wouldn't amount to anything. Don't be so fast to give the C5 away, it may just fool you.
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
Slideshow: A Jaguar designer's personal project imagines what a modern front-engined Corvette might look like if Chevrolet revisited the golden age of the Stingray.
