Your car has at least 6 of the points I made in my first post.. Including the faux split window

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should
Like you said yourself. just beacause you can post stuff, doesnt mean you should.

If you're that good that you can tell this already, you need to be on wall street. I grew up with those cars and they were modded & raced to the hilt, just like the cars today. The modds today were not available back them. In 1962 you could buy a '57 chevy vert for $500-$600. I know because I did. It was just a chevy that wouldn't amount to anything. Don't be so fast to give the C5 away, it may just fool you.
Maybe but there were not that many cool cars back then. Now there are and many have much more limited numbers. But then again the C5 is a very well liked car so who knows. I would say my Sky has a better chance and I don't think it will be either. But I have been wrong before. I sold a Buick GS 455 Stage 1 in the late 70s thinking no one would want a Buick. Its was not even yellow. It was blue the most rare color.

All I have to say is build your car to your taste and tell everyone else to pound sand. On another note my car will never see more then a set of chrome or polished tasteful wheels (I.E no fake bolts) , black out kit for the lights , 20% window tint all around minus windshield , tasteful stock appearing stereo upgrade with ipod mounted in glovebox out of view, and maybe a full interior swap to all black. I love the look of the c5 and it is one of the few cars that need little change.

Since I have had my C5, going to cruise-ins and car shows I have noticed that the majority of non-Vette owners at the shows look at Vette owners as obnoxious, arrogant jerks! Based on a few of the attitudes I have seen in this thread, they are right! I can't believe some people would just blatantly tell someone their car looks bad! Even if I don't think it looks good, I would never step low enough to say it to them. Not saying I am better than anyone, I had good manners instilled in me at a young age and I still live by them today. I know no one cares, but I think it is time I go find me another forum! So long CF!!

But can you imagine the cool cars then if they had all the mods & accessories they have now. But you have to keep everything in perspective. Cars are produced according to the population and the projected marketing sales, not to make it a collectible. The populace has what, doubled-tripled & the media has more thaqn that, so more cars are produced. IMHO & my $0.02 worth, the C5 is a very popular car. It has the best body since the '80s, & I like the rear end. Don't see anything wrong with it. Back in the 50s & 60s cars was a guys personality. It was an extension of himself, so to speak. I don't see much difference today. The mods are more extreme because there are more extreme mods available. Guys todays are just trying to make there cars personal & I see nothing wrong with that. Who wants to drive down the road & see 10 vettes just like the one you in. I don't, but that's me. My car is basically stock. simply because I don't have the money to blow like some do, but hey that's cool. It's your car, go for it...........

I semi-agree. I get sick of seeing z06 wheels on coupes and verts. Not that it doesn't look good- just that everybody does that. I'm putting MRR wheels on this month. I love the red calipers- looks great on any car. I did it because it goes with my mod theme of adding some red under hood/mechanical parts. I think z06 ducts look stupid. They look stupid on a z06 so they would look stupid on any vette. They look like what they are. Cheap plastic stick on junk.

I am against almost any stick-on mod. There are way too many things you can stick on a vette. Most of them fall of eventually- but that deserves a thread of it's own.

I love seeing people mid their vettes. These are just my opinions which don't mean crap Anyhoo- so mod away. Have fun with it.

OPs car is nice. Not the best but nice.

IMHO the side skirts look a little cheesy and a couple other things but still way better then the Red Vette trophys not withstanding.

Show judging is hard to figure. Usually bling wins over substance.

So you consider putting couple of badges on your car to be crazy!? Man you must really live on the edge...

Some people just like the looks of it and are not willing to pay the hefty price tag that comes with real carbon fiber. So why bash them? Is you taste the only one that really counts?

Hmmm... That must be the worst crime in history!!! Getting another set of wheels for your car is just wrong.

C'mon, are you serious. Somebody plugs their MP3 player in to their stereo and you have to get all about it. I'm sure there are bigger things in life to worry about.

Each to their own, this used to be popular back in the 70's and 80's, just like black out kits...

I just hate when people do that, can't believe how angry it makes me to see them put on none Z cars. I'm no expert but when done right they do serve a purpose, so pretty cool mod if you ask me.

The sideskirts were not my original idea, but with how low the tigershark splitter comes down the sides look unfinished without something to tie it in.

Op you have a nice car but there are some things I would not have done ie: the wheels not my taste, blackout lights, window tint is to dark and some of the body kit below the doors (that's something from the ZR1). Your engine modifications are more for the performance section and the same goes for your 10 second time slips.

ICULUKN-C5...

I think you have a bad *** ride there. Your car is heavily modified, but it all seems to work together as a whole package look. Love the wheels, Fender flares, TS front and hood. If your running 10's then you are like me. Most of our mods are under the hood....

Is it proper etiquette to have a front chin spoiler without a rear spoiler, or visa versa? I always hesitate on the rear spoiler because my nose gets beat up bad enough with stock clearance.

My own mod that I am most unhappy about are the blackouts. I went with the lower cost smoke acrylic and am very unhappy with the fit and looks.

ICULUKN, I do like your tiger shark front end, and what did you use for blackouts? I have a triple black and am always looking for nice DARK mods!!

Since I have been on this forum I have only seen two mods that really make me ask why? Exposed headlights and the Tigershark read bumper.
But if you like it that is all that matters. It would be pretty boring if we all liked the same things.
I like front and rear spoilers and C6 wheels!
