just bought a zo6.. o3 with under 8,000miles on it . I went from an 04 vert and there is way more then just some hp , of a diffrence they dont ride or act anything alike the z is really a race car on pump gas that will get you 30mpg if you dont go to nuts with the loud peddle. But i also didnt want a newer one i drove an o8 and it just didnt do it over the 03 for me . I knew that i wanted an 03, 50th ann, in elc blue with all the ops. But all my friends said go with the newer one. In the end it comes down to what you want .You will know when you drive them bolth of them. mine makes my heart pick up a bit and thats what i wanted good luck and let us know what you do.

You will miss the open air feeling on a nice cool night if you go with the Z. With a couple of mods on the vert...you aren't going to miss the xtra hp of the Z. I love the looks of the Z but you can always put on the wheels/screens etc to get the Z look.

Every hardtop car I've owned(90 GTA, 91 Formula 350, 94 Z28) there were plenty of times I had wished the top came off. I've owned 4 convertibles and never once did I wish it was a hardtop. Girly? Well the girls do like them better.

Partial to Vert. Great looking top up car, and a great wind in your hair looking great top down.

I had the same dilemma when I purchased my Vert, I love the top down drive but wanted the performance of the Z06. So I figured a few mods would get me the extra 55hp that the Z has. Well I went over board and through a Supercharger in it and now I've got the best of both worlds. I love embarrassing the unsuspecting Z06 and even have enough to take out a C6 Z06.

Just want to say that's a badass ride with the top down.

Corvettes look like *** though with the vert top up.

For my $$, I think you made the right decision.

We own an '04 Vert M6. I think it performs very well.

Had the opportunity to drive both a C5 and a C6 Z06.

Frankly wasn't overimpressed with the SOP feel of either of them over my (pretty much) stock car.

I expected more, and am therefore very happy with my '04 'vert.

YMM certainly V.

Great choice. Honestly, you would have made the right choice either way!

Oh, and you got the fastest color too!

Dude, that is SUCH an easy decision for me. The Z hands down. Much better platform to start with, what a Vette should be (in it's purest form), and much more desirable.

replace them or get some yellow vinyl pinstripes from Autozone and get a ring on them.

gratz man. Even if the Z is bettter with performance both styles have plenty of HP for road travel. From the look of the exhaust you already have some mods to it.

I always wanted a z06 but found a deal on my vert that I couldn't pass up. Traditionally I never was that interested in convertibles but top down has definitely won me over. You can modify a vert to be faster and handle better than a stock Z06, but it will never be a z06. The extra goodies the z has are more track oriented (although still great on the street) so if you enjoy the top down experience, the convertible is more than enough for street driving, and more is always just mods away.

Congrats on your new vert. Nothing like open air cruising. I love covertible tops on performance cars, and some of these Vette verts look really badass.
So now just add a cam. a supercharger or some turbos and you will be even faster than a C5Z06. I like the coupe too because I can remove my top but Ive had some smoking fast cars that were verts that would decimate C5Zs at the dragstip. Making cars faster is very easy. I would never hack a C5 Z06 in to a vert or targa top. They look great as is you just cant drop the top on them.
