I am thinking of upgrading my stock 2003 C-5 exhaust at Carlisle. Can anyone tell me the difference between the two. Also what would be the choice to go with ?
Thanks.
I went with the Borla Quad tip Stingers. They have a deep throaty sound that many associate with "Muscle car" tone
They are fairly loud in the cabin without the use of a partition/divider.
Thats the price you pay for an awesome sounding system.
If you want the hoover vacuum sound, buy a Porsche.......
I have purchased an installed a carpeted divider and now the sound in the cabin is not much louder than the stock titanium.
Outside, Im still rocking!!!!!
I wanted to go with the Borlas because I wanted my car to sound like a Corvette should - like the muscle cars of the '60s and '70s.
The Corsas do sound a bit more Ferrari than Corvette, but I went with them anyway because I didn't want to deal with drone on the highway. (This is the point where 32 members will chime in and say that their Borlas don't drone.)
I started with the Corsa Touring, but they didn't sound much different than stock, so I had them pulled out and have the Corsa Sport put in instead. I'm pleased with them.
I've heard that the Stingers are more aggressive than the Sports, so be sure to look into that, if it is indeed true.

I have the Corsa "Pace Car" system. Best money I ever spent.
drone schmone, it's all in your head. so to speak.
people ask me if i have drone with the stingers. my answer is: here's what my car is and here's what it sounds like. i don't find anything annoying about it. and when you stand on it it's pure music.

I just took off a set of Borla Stinger dual tips and replaced with a set of Z06 ti's. I am very happy with the quieter sound, but have not lost any performance (at least by my seat of pants dyno )
I thought there was too much drone, but your mileage may vary. different strokes and all.
ever be behind someone with way too much bass in their stereo?? You look and they have all their windows up, and You have your windows up and have your radio on.. only to be drowned out by the Bass drone coming from the car in front of you... You have to think...how does that sound to the driver in that car??? They must like it... That's what drone is all about... as many members have told me in private.. their borlas drone but they can live with it.... many who are honest in private tell me that they are no so much fun when going on a trip and are running in that 2000 - 2500 rpm range. the drone can leave you with a head ache...Now on this forum there are many BASS lovers, many with obnoxious noise coming from their radio or their exhaust... So to ask anyone is very subjective...For me... The Corsa Indy Pace car is perfect... absolutely no drone at any rpm range.. and its guaranteed. So I guess if you like that obnoxious base tone stereo, the Borlas will be a perfect fit for you... IM not saying the Borla are loud and obnoxious like those thumper base tone stereos, but they are in the same league because the dynamic range is drone prone at a specific harmonic,, that being the 2500 rpm range.. Corsa dialed that out with their technology... I am more of a pure quality sound than I am a loud turn your head sound that the Borlas produce. And I dont like headaches on a trip, be it 40 miles or 300 miles.
Just my opinion.

i know what you are saying, but honestly i don't experience a drone that i consider to be on the level you are describing. it's there, yes, but i don't see the horrible annoyance that some people describe. maybe a convertible has different accoustics?
that sound that the borlas produce is MY feeling of a pure quality sound. which comes right back to the personal preference/subjectivity part of a 'which is best' type of question.

Had my Corsa pace cars and x-pipe installed at the show last year, guys at Corsa do a great job and treat you well . Does not take long from them to put them on, the wait in line is longer, but fun to watch the installs. They are busy, but they take their time to do it right. Sounds great and no drone in any range. Sound even better now with LT's
