That is a C5 Z06. The roof is fixed. Basic styling que is that of a convertible with a hard top (like the old 50s and 60 Vette convertibles. The guys here will be able to tell you, but I think that there are companies that make a hard top for convertibles, that would give you the look you want, but I don't know of anyone who has a Z06 (or its earlier version the fixed roof coupe (FRC))with a removable top. However, if it has been done, someone here will know. Good luck with your project. Zuti
I figured you would have to use a transfer case and there it is on the Supra. I just don't know how you will find room to run a shaft to a front differential without jacking the car up pretty high.
Interesting project but looks like you have the know how and technology.....keep us posted!

as far as I understand this is custom corvette C5 Z06 targa, right?
What body should I purchase to convert to z06 targa? as that guy did?
Who can do that for me?
ps. looks like I will have to take a vacation on my job for traveling to USA
Check the link, I think it talks about how this was done. You would want to get a C5 Z06 or a Fixed Roof Coupe. The Fixed roof coupe (FRC) was the precursor to the Z06, but both body styles are the same, so either would work. I think if you did a 'GOOGLE' search on 'removable roof for a C5 Z06', you would find a company that would do it. Yo can also do a search on the Corvette Forum for the same thing and my find some one here who has done it. Zuti

I think your questions have been answered, so I'll just add welcome to the forum. You have set a very ambitious goal for whatever car you buy - best of luck with it and be sure to share the process with us in pics.
I just looked at the tax in the Russia for importing that car. I am disappointed so much
the tax tariff:
5 euro per cubic centimeter, as far as I remember corvette engine is about 5.7 liters ~ 5700 cc = 5 euro * 5700 = 28500 euro ~ 39300 dollars.
the tax 2 times bigger than the car price itself
so I will try to find a workaround, may be the car body and engine will be separated from each other, and import it as a auto spare parts, not as a car.
Check this place out in Marina del Rey, California.

Browse Chevrolet and it should come to the top

Amazing. What were the chances of finding a Z06 Targa for sale. Great find LS2NSUV
Welcome to the Forum synca. Sounds like you have some incredible mods planned. make sure you post pictures as you complete the work. How are the roads in Russia? The C5 sits low to the road. Even in England, I ground out occasionally.

thanks, yes of course, I will post the pics of the process.
as for roads, in russia it is the pain. however in the town itself it is more or less acceptable. Anyway the corvette will be the second car for weekends only. I have another car for driving to job or for work business.
Your determination inspires me.
thanks, but i have no choice, will have to find an old corvette in my country for a low price, and will import c5 corvette as a body for my old corvette, not as a car that trick works.
another option: swap 1-1.5 liter engine into corvette in USA for importing
