lol, see you're limiting yourself from feedback, many cams share the same/similar specs just have different "name". i've been through 3 cams already, i'm sure I can give feedback on atleast 10

but i'll give you and answer, once better than the other

All things being equal - every degree in duration is worth about 2hp. So the torquer may be only worth 8 or so hp over the 228r, but the 228r might have better drivability due to less overlap

Hey hope the car is doing well!

Both are older cams and have been known to work quite well. The 228 cam will have a bit better drivability but give up maybe 8-10rwhp to the bigger 232/234 cam. If you can't decide, go halfway at a 228/232 on a 112+4. This is a great cam and especially with how light the zo6 is, it adds good power but drives well. Keep in mind if you will probably need a clutch soon, especially if you are launching at the track.

Btw I was going to run a custom 231/235 cam on a 112+4.

Just finished getting my 2001 Z06 tuned with HPtuner, car made 413hp....390tq....I'm using the TSP 228r..112 lsa. Other mods are SLP under drive pulley, k&n intake, 1 3/4 longtubes, high flow cats, x-pipe, with SLP Load Mouth exhaust. Car is a blast to drive but need a new clutch

whats you main concern though, do you value drivibility or power? daily?
personally I think the torquer is the perfect medium with it comes to specs.
I went from a 234/238 114 to 239/242 111, and the thought the 234/238 was just on the edge of drivibilty, though that's all personal preference.
for the amount of work, I wouldn't go under 230s, 230-235 is the sweet spot imo. more if you're ok sacrificing for a bit more ruckus

Big cam's are fine if you have a great tuner. I made lots of power NA with only a 228-232 @112+5, and it was very streetable. The lope got noticed, too. People are really surprised to hear a later model car with a rockin' cam. Now I have a blower cam, and I really miss the lope.

My car has similar purpose, but with a MS4, i'll take that on a road trip too
But i'll go with the Torquer in your case, with a descent tune, you probably won't notice it being there even cruising at 1100rpm on your road trip.

Nothing wrong with an older design cam. That just shows how well that cam works as it has been around a long time.

I had a 228r in my GTO it was a pretty good cam I got about 25-30 HP from it. It had a good sound everyone could tell I had a cam. I picked up the most SOP feel in the low end & mid-range. It was a tire spinner. ADVICE = GET GOOD SPRINGS don’t go cheap. I went .650 lift, I know that’s a little more but I wanted the durability and option just in case I decided to go up.

I think the sweet spot for the 346 is the 228-232 cams they seem to make close to the numbers of the bigger cams with better torque curves. For a street car who wants to have to rev to 4k plus to feel the power? I run a 228-232 .612/.612 113+1 and it makes power everywhere sounds great and doesn't buck in the least.

I installed a cam in my car in May of this year it. So far I love it driveability went down but I knew that going into it with such a big cam I'm running the texas speed tsunami cam 235/240 .648/.609 on a 111 lsa. I was like you I dont drive this car much so when I do I wanted something more so I decided to run this cam I liked the dyno number that I had seen on the internet especially when you get a set of heads and I like the driveability over the magic stick line. I think you would be happier with the torquer IMO good luck and let us know what you decide to get
