It works. It will help the motor brushes working correctly.

I guess it puts more wear and tear on the motor and all associated parts by doing this, but I can see where it would also help keep the window moving smoothly.

My 93 Z28 Camaro had big time issues with the window motors, it has a lot to do with a poorly designed motor and the grease hardening in the mechanism imho.

Guys and Gal, there is a fix for stuck motors. I've had to do this just about every spring after the car sits for the winter...

Remove the tab behind the door puller.
Remove the torx screws.
If you can see inside the hole, you'll see a shiny object. That is the end of the window motor.
Take a long screwdriver and put it on the end of the motor.
Give it a couple good whacks with a pair of pliers or line cutters.
Try the window switch.
If it doesn't work, try a few more raps on the motor, with a bit more authority.
Don't be afraid to tap it good. It's worked for me over the years. Sometimes, they just fall asleep and need to be woken up good!

Not to worry. My wife gives the window and the seat motor a good workout. I think she just likes playing with things.

The power windows in my Mazda are now 23 years old and as I mentioned, have needed only a bit of cleaning (passenger switch), last week. The driver's side works great. How's that for not wearing out!

I believe this common problem has more to do with exercising the mini relays in the control module and less to do with the power window motor ,etc
