I had a 01 convertible for a brief period and really miss it. I'm going to sell my 69 nova soon to raise some cash. I loved the open air of the vert (former motorcyclist ) , but may try a coupe. Do all c5 coupes have the removable top? Does it still give you that open feeling like a convertible ? Thanks in advance for info.

The coupe is great because it does have the best of both worlds.
There are a couple years that had fixed roof coupes available as an option, and of course the z06 is a fixed roof.
Just make sure you lock the top down if you buy a coupe and remove it often. You don't want to become a member of the flying roof club.
Mine is a 2000 black coupe and love it, the top is off just about every time I it goes out. 21900 miles on it. GO FOR IT. ( GINO ) and by the way its a 6 speed

All the Z06s have a fixed roof, I think 1999 and 2000 had a low number of fixed roofs. Many of the coupes came with 2 roofs (one clear & the other matched the body color). You will get the open air feel. Good luck
Of course, the biggest difference is convenience - you can drop the top of a vert much faster than you can with a coupe. The advantage of the translucent polycarb top in coupe is that it lets the light in while you're driving on the highway, say, on a long trip. I like the bright and airy feeling it gives.
Interesting note: Top speed of coupe is about 180 MPH, whereas the top speed of a vert is about 165.
I rode motorcycles for over thirty years and loved being "IN THE WIND". With the coupe, an a couple of seconds, I can pop the top and enjoy that feeling all over. Coupe or Vert, it's still Americas No. 1 sports car. Everything eles is just transportation.
Don't get me wrong, it is not a convertible, but it is a great compromise. Top off is really cool, top on is cool too.....especially in the summer......LOL
In the event that you're interested in HPDE, most tracks won't allow convertibles to run unless they have a roll bar installed. Coupes can run as long as they have the top on.
