The "New GM" Really?
Car is still under warranty, so getting it done isn't a big deal you say?
Guess again!
Three weeks ago they took four days to "Diagnose" what I already told them, to change the senders.
No problem, I'm patient, I take the car back home while the parts are being ordered in, the following week I drop it off to get it done, now things start to go really bad.
After dismantling the car, I get into a pissing contest with the service guy over replacing both senders, eventually he gives up and agrees, after all it just makes sense if the car is going to be that far apart, right?
Sorry, going to be a further delay while we order in a plug that was broken that we didn't see during disassembly, another four days.
Ok, has to be done, no biggie.
Now two weeks later they still have the car, and I just got told today, they have to drop the tanks out again, because "Something is wrong", and the car won't start, funny, I drove it in there!
In total, they have had the car 18 days and I'm not getting it back until this Friday, so that will make 20.
If it weren't for the warranty, I would have never taken it in to the dealer, nothing has changed at these dealers, the "New GM" is just another car sales bull story.
I've bought almost nothing but GM in my 40 years of driving, and this is my last.
Good job GM, and even better to the dealer, what garbage!
Thank you my forum friends for letting me rant & ramble, as frustrated as I am!
And before anyone asks, the dealer name isn't getting revealed until I get my car back!(Hopefully reassembled!)
And it is absolutely the Dealership at issue here, but this is also GM's public face, very frustrating.
The saga continues!
The only up side is I bitched so bad they switched up my courtesy car to a brand new Buick, pretty nice but not my Vette!
Thanks
My dealership has always provided nothing but great service.
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
If it makes you feel any better, with the crappy gas, the new ones did not last but a few months. They still work, but they are not accurate.
gm just has no real direct competition with the corvette and it kind of is what it is.
Oh; on a lighter note - I like your avatar!

Good job Richie!!!
Richie is at Abel Chevrolet, in Rio Vista now. Sometimes it's where you bring your Corvette. Good luck to you…
If you still have your owner's manual, there is a section in the book that tells you how to communicate directly to a GM call center if you cannot get satisfaction with the dealership. They may or may not be as helpful with the extended warranties. I don't have experience there.
Last year, my friend had a collegue that was having trouble with her 2009 Malibu. It was in the shop multiple times for the same issue with no resolve. I told her to follow the directions in the owner's manual and she is now driving a 2011 Malibu. After investigation, GM bought her old car and negotiated a new top-of-the-line model for the same payment of her old base model car.
My advice is to change dealerships at a minimum and call the 800 number in your owner's manual to lodge a complaint.
Lastly, I do work for GM and I can tell you first hand that it isn't the same place it was before the bankruptcy.
