This story/picture has been posted before. First time I've read that texting was involved. First story was the guy tried passing on the shoulder into the back of the semi.
Few years ago I fixed a new Dodge pickup for a friends nephew. Texting his GF late at night and hit two parked cars. $8000.00 damage. Wether or not that was the case here, texting and driving dumb!
Actually I think the whole concept is dumb but that's me. I'd rather just talk. I recently had to change the phone plan since my GF and her daughter don't seem to be able to comunicate any other way.
Driving and using a cell phone/texting can be dangerous to your health.
And more importantly, others' health. I was left permanently disabled by a woman going 55 mph who was paying more attention to her cell phone than she was to the fact that traffic was at a dead stop. I happened to be unlucky enough to be in the same lane, and at the back of the pack. It's just a good thing my car was there to stop her before she got into an accident.....
My spine has been cut into more often than a Christmas ham as a result of someone talking on a cell while driving. The first thing that went into my Vette after I bought it was hands free calling.

The bad thing is with all of the stories and pictures of the aftermath of what happens while texting, people continue to do it. They all think it won't happen to me.
By the way, that same picture above just showed up on the Corvette Facebook page with the post saying it just took place in NJ. I guess the OP does not look on the internet much.

This is at least a few years old. Gets recycled with a different scenario every time...that being said there are many cases where cell phones were the cause.
Received an e-mail earlier today from a friend showing a classic Pontiac LeMans and a 40 Ford coupe parked next to each other at a car show and a lady plows into the LeMans destroying it and causing a lot of damage to the 40 Ford. She was in the parking lot were the show was to take place and was texting and driving. She jumped the curb went through all of the bushes and never took her foot off the gas.

Thank You for the reminder. It's hard to even receive a call while driving a stick.
I will let the phone ring or pull over. It shocks me when I drive home after work and see all the drivers with cell phones in their hand.
I'm sending this photo to my kids as a reminder.
