Just another note on state farm in 07 my wife totaled her
nissan maxima. It was her fault, the first offer they made
was above the retail value of both major car value websites.
It allowed me to purchase a 2006 chrysler 300 with
6000 miles. No negotiation, their first offer. I would never
leave state farm
Check out Grundy, they have a new MVP program for newer cars. Needs to be garaged unless you are on a trip. I have all my cars covered by them except daily drivers. Great prices and you can trust them. Agreed value too.
also I will add, when I had state farm, I asked if I could insure the car for more since i have about 80k into mine. They said I would have to get it appraised at a shop they work with and whatever estimate they had, they would match that coverage.
What have you got in that thing for 80 grand? Pics please!!

How about pictures of this 80K Vette?
Would love to see it.

I don't know the gentleman in question, but why do some folks consider the statement of him having a total of $80k in a Corvette to be so untruthful? I know a couple of guys that have over & $90k in their C5's.
Unusual ... yes. But, automatically implying he is a liar?? That's a jump folks. Why not sit back and wait for a response before making such potentially harmful accusations?

X2. Lot's of people are just weird and like to over inflate the cost but some really do have that much in it. For instance, the vette I just bought has about $75-85k in upgrades, so I see where this other guy is coming from. He just wants the proper amount if anything where to happen to his ride. Hey, if he is willing to pay the extra insurance premium then good for him. I myself need to look into a company better suited to cover a car that is essentially a mobile $120k stack of money. Amazing how these friggin mods mean little to nothing on the sale price to the next guy. That's how you play the game though

Not taken as smart a$$. I didn't want to highjack this thread. Note: I did not put that kind of money in to it, I bought it as is. Monster?...Yes. I need to make up an introduction thread for myself with pics and info. Teaser: It's an LPE C5R TT. I'm just so happy to have my own c5.
rtpassini is turning green I'm not one to brag, just keep your eyes open for my upcoming thread in General Discussion. It's all in good fun.
im not green. i have plenty of money into mine. and i like mine. and i dont have to inflate the amount put into mine
haha, nice. Yeah man, if you have the money to do the things you want to it why not enjoy the hell out of it right? I picked up my car friday. I never realized how many places I "needed" to go. Actually I parked it at one of the stores I wanted to go to, walked away, turned back to admire it for a second and said F it, the store can wait, and went for a long drive.
Well I didn't read through all 4 pages of posts but it seems you are asking for the insurance company to refer to your stock components as aftermarket accessories. I don't see why they would agree to that. As long as your VIN is on record the price you pay should reflect what your car is worth including the stock suspension. no need to ask for more money.
I'm not sure if they would consider a paint job an accessory either. To me, accessories (my company will cover up to $3k worth at no additional charge) are things that can be REMOVED from the car and still retain a factory/sellable car. For example something like a subwoofer, some added bling in your engine bay, etc. You mentioned you want your new paint to be included in the worth of your car - again it probably doesn't really add much worth to the car so they would see no reason to say that your car should be insured for more. If you were to get in an accident and it was totaled you would porbably have a pretty tough time arguing with any insurance company that you deserve more money because your paint was in above average condition.
It has probably been recommended elsewhere in the thread but it sounds like the best insurance for you would be a company that offers a fixed price option where you say how much you want the car insured for and they give you a rate based on that. It may require you to have the car inspected by someone so that they can be assured it is worth close to what you claim. Either way, good luck with your mods and new insurance search
