Default flickering interior light

New to the Forum. I have a 2004 convertible. The under dash light on the drivers side flickers when lit. I removed the bulb,it has small yellow photo light sensors built in. I think the bulb is bad since the passenger side is working fine. Problem is ,I called a couple of Chevy dealer's. The only bulb they have listed is an 1194. No sensors. Any idea where I can get one of these bulbs with the light sensors. Thanks Wolf

Why would you want light sensors in the drivers side floor lamp? I'd just put in the correct one.

Default flickering light

I didn't. I believe it's the stock bulb.

The stock bulb didn't have sensors. It's the same as the passenger bulb

The list I saw said use 194 or 37

Great post DeeGee - that list will come in handy when a bulb needs replacement.

The bulb you are describing is a replacement LED. This is the only reason flickering would occur on just one lamp a a time. The factory replacement is a type 194.
There are several forum vendors that sell replacement LED bulbs. I bet that most of the replaceable bulbs have been changed to LEDs by the previous owner.

Default flickering light

Thanks Gary. I think your 100 percent right. I haven't been able to get down under the dash and check it out. Pulled my back a few days ago. Is it better to go with the original 194 or stick with a replacement LED?

This depends on how much of the lighting has been changed to LED. If it is just the foot wells the put the regular bulb back in. If the whole car has been changed to LEDs I would replace the bad one with an LED.

You can get the LED's off of fleabay for a couple of bucks . That's where I got all mine. A lot of auto parts stores have them, too. No sense in paying a corvette tax. Stay away from the corvette vendors on those.
