OK, so maybe it's all the chrome strips that I am more critical of.
From the side, the vent/scoop, the rear side marker, the license plate surround, the exhaust area, etc. The chrome stops the eye as it moves along the car. Without the chrome strips, the eye moves along the entire car, not start and stops.
I could live with the black (but not on my car... :}
Looks good! What blackout kit did you get? Thanks!
thanks Brother...the blackout kit on the tail lights, reverse lghts, center brake lights, and front fog lights is the"Premium Molded Blackout Kit" from the VetteShop....the new version without the screw holes that helld the older version in place, these are held on place by clear two sided tape so they have a smooother look than the previous version. The side markers are sprayed with two coats of black spray on tint called nightshade that you can get at PepBoys.
the license plate recess and the lower fascia are coated in flat black plastidip with a thin chrome outline.
the whole thing took about 3-4 hours to do and cost about $120, but the blackout kit was $90 by itself ;-)...you could just as easily use the spray on tint on the light fixtures and drop the cost by $80, but the spray on tint looks nice, but not quite as nice as the blackout kit

good points, its easy and cheap to add or remove the chrome strips, maybe I'll pull those and see how that iteration looks, with just the black but without the chrome.

I think ur thinking of some other Toque guy..... Haha. I did not do that
PD is cool becuase its incredibly easy to apply and remove, so you can play around with it trying differant things, differant looks, and easily peel it right off with very little effort or cost, and without permanently altering or damaging anything...its just another way to have some fun playing around with the vette...;-)
For me it's like this;
If you're gonna go with the black out treatment then fine. That would probably look good. But you can't mix the black outs with the chrome. It doesn't work. The whole point of blacking out a car is to get rid of the shiny bits. I can take the plastidip on the lower rear fascia. Not my style but it looks OK. But, you need to lose the chrome accents or pinstripes or whatever you call it. Give the poor girl back her style and great figure. Do not cheapen it with sparkles.

Awesome pics of our blackout kit,thanks for your business
Get rid of the plastidip...cheapens your vehicle.....Go one step farther with the tailight blackouts though..Get the kit that moves the tailights out {flush mount kit}...it will make a HUGE differnce in your vehicles looks....check mine.Love them.
Just my opinion, but mods like this make the car go from looking light and nimble, to heavy and slow. Look at the two pics. The before looks ready to leap, the bottom one looks ready for a Sunday drive at 35.
