Man my hat is off to Toque and the rest of you guys that take off your tires and clean the inside barrels. I've been on vacation for a couple weeks and got bored, so I thought I would do this. Now thank goodness my DD gets washed twice a week, because otherwise this would of been a B*tch.Couldn't tell much difference because I do do this, but what a pain in the *ss. I did get some grease off finally of one of them that was driving me CRAZY, so anyway,I'll probably never do this for awhile. L8R ZFLASH
I enjoy working on my car but guys like Toque they take it to another level. He has inspired me and as a result my car doesn't look half bad . Thats why I enjoy this forum so much.

I may not take my wheels off the car all that often, but I do clean the barrels of the wheels each time I wash the car. Simply jack up the car and spin the wheel around while whiping down the barrel with a moist rag - does wonders in making the wheel area look great.
But you can't polish the scratches out with brushes.
I admit that I pull my wheels off once a week to clean them and the inside of the wheel wells, but I'd never done this until I bought my Vette. It's the only car I've cared enough about to make the extra effort.

I work on my car late at night on weekends after my wife/son go to bed. She says I'm a Vampire because I love staying up so late ...

I'm not using any "brushes" on my wheels... It would scratch the heck out of them !

And I agree - Toque's car is always spotless.
Thanks guys ! I don't take my wheels off very often, but I just jack up each corner and wipe off the barrels with Zaino quick detail. Its easy to reach in there with a 5 spoke design. I just spin them and wipe away ! I only remove them for a full polishing maybe once/twice a year.
...but the voices in my head won't stop until the wheels are spotless.
"No they aren't!"
"Yes they are!"
Sometimes, I do it the lazy way by reaching through the spokes and cleaning as much barrel as possible and then simply starting and moving the car a little bit so I can then reach the barrel area that was previously behind the brake calipers.
I remember that post... Looking good !
I would love to blame my affliction on someone but its all on myself for my overly OCD affliction I have on my possessions....
