This car is amazing for how little it needs.

I do the oil and filter changes and its due some fluids.

I'll also tackle any of the basic mechanical tasks but engine/powertrain is beyond me.

Lets see for the track car:

change oil every two weekends or 500 mile. Oil monitor is down to 30-35%

Change diff and trans fluid every 1000 miles

Change brake and clutch Fluid before each event

Change brake pads and rotors every two events.

change tires as needed, three events

Change valve springs yearly

change spark plugs and wires yearly

change injectors yearly

retune

for the street vette

change oil once a year.
change brake fluid once a year.

I'd find a good shop is my best advice since you've never done your own maintenance. Assuming you're mechanically inclined, it's one thing to tackle your first fluid, brake, spark plug change on your average car, but it's a totally different ball game when taking to those tasks on a vette.

If you do decide to tackle something, do lots of searching on the subject on this forum. You'll often find an answer to your question a lot faster rather then just posting and waiting for a reply.

Okay....I'll bite...Other than properly raising and supporting the car, what is so different about changing fluids, brakes, and spark plugs on a Vette?

I've changed oil and clutch fluid; I've replaced shocks; I can top off washer fluid pretty well; I change brake pads. I don't try anything which will take me more than one long afternoon to take apart and put back together.

I purchased my Z in 2008 with 20K on the ODO. It's got 62K now.

The only things I do are routine oil changes per the GM Oil Life Monitor.

A few months ago, I had the differential, tranny, and radiator fluid drained and refilled.

Otherwise, I haven't done anything.

Do you guys replace your spark plugs every X? Some folks follow the if it ain't broke, don't fix it adage.
