You know.. Picking a Favorite is a little like picking a favorite child! Each Generation has highs and lows. Still, C5 is timeless!, how many times does a person come up and ask "What yr is your car (C5) thinking it is last yrs model! and surprised to hear its real age .....

Zora Arkus Duntov, the 'real' father of the Corvette was one asked in an interview.. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE VETTE- Zora 's reply .... THE NEXT ONE ....

Remember -- ALWAYS wave to any Gen Vette
SAVE THE WAVE!

I've had a pair of C3s ('81 and '79) and now have an '02 6 spd coupe. The C5 is my favorite but I loved that '79 4 spd shark. All generations have their own special traits.....that's the beauty of the hobby...there's something for everyone. BTW, I didn't care for the new C7 but now it's beginning to grow on me. Sorta like the '68 when it replaced those wonderful midyears.

The C2 hard top convertible is my favorite but I can't afford one. The C5 FRC is beautiful. Next on my list is the C5 coupe in torchred which is what we have now. If I could afford it I would trade it in on a 2013 c6 coupe again in torchred. The reason for this would be because I'm a little nervous about the age of the C5.

When I had C4's, I didn't like the C5. After driving one, I was still undecided so I drove it some more and began to like it. Now, I have been in love with it through two '99's. Never cared for the base C6 whatsoever!!!!!! The wide bodies look good though.

Liked the C7 from the first look. However, since then I have seen a few clips of the car in action.......WOW!!!!! What a difference!!!! Seeing it in motion makes a monumental difference in perception of its looks!!

Also, in all fairness to the base C6, after seeing it in action in the movie "Hit and Run", it looked pretty damn impressive as well!!!

Oh well, I guess I just have to admit that there is just no such thing as a bad or ugly 'Vette!!!! And, that is definitely a good thing!!

C5 is nicer than the base C6..But the Grand Sport/Z06/ZR1 widebody is bad azz!! It's no wonder the Grand Sport is crushing sales of the base C6 and has pretty much killed Z06 & ZR1 sales..

There is no bad looking factory Corvette. C2's will forever be the most desireable. And for good reason. C5's brought forth the 'modern' Corvette GT class car. The C6 is just an evolution of the C5.

I will have a C7. I'm putting money away every paycheck to buy the mid-year for the hp bump and other refinements that GM will make.

They will never bring back the FRC design for Aerodynamic reasons. The long rear window is better for Aerodynamics.

I'm glad they do not plan to bring it back because I got mine !

I'm envious of you late model C5 Z06 owners. I hope you all realize what a great (and now unique) Corvette you own.

If the Corvette fairies gave me one from each generation, I would probably:

C1: Drive it to shows, get my trophy and go home
C2: Make sure it's a split window coupe just to say I have a split window coupe
C3: One of my favorites designs, especially the profile - I would want an earlier model chrome fender coupe
C4: It would have to be a later model ZR1 however I wouldn't drive it that much - Probably just look at it
C5: My weekend driver and first love
C6: I would love a Z06 track car
C7: Like seeing a new supermodel for the first time. Stunning, but need to know more - Would love a fixed roof high HP version that would share weekend driving duties with the C5.

A base c6 is way better than a c5. Just look at them side by side and its obvious.

That's why I'm keeping mine.
Its the one car that I "KNOW" I would regret selling in the future.

You gave me an idea for a new post...

I might "add" a C3 one day if I'm lucky enough.
C5Z is staying though.
