Back in the sixties many owner of split window coupes cut up the back rear window and installed a single solid one so their '63 would look like a '64 or newer. While doing that hack many added a third tail light for that Impala look. Wonder what they think about that now?
After your hack conversion is done and your five thousand or more is gone you will find your vehicle is worth less than it was before your "mod/conversion". Give the money to charity and go for a ride, you'll be better off!

Another thread out of hand lol I already said if I decide to do it I am going to buy the kit to just add the targa top (not convert to hatchback). And if that feels too pricey just live with it.

The C5 was not designed as a convertible but the frame is strong enough that no additional bracing was required when the convertible was built for the '98 year.

It is almost impossible to convert a corvette into a ZO6. There are tons of differences. Not just big stuff, there are so many little things. However, you could make one faster and all of that. I wouldn't chase trying to convert or copy a ZO6. If you weren't to buy a ZO6, just make a badass vette.
