We had three great days up here of around +10c and the plan was to bring it home on Sunday. But.. My WWMBO stated it wasn't coming home until (It's) half of the garage was available. So.. I got a group of buddies over last night and we lifted, or rather, killed ourselves moving the '79 project Vette shell from the Garage to the driveway. I was going to then bring the C5 home tonight after our Corvette Club meeting. Well Mother Nature had other ideas last night and dropped an inch of that white crap on us and of course made the sanders, salters and brine come out once again. I guess Saturday might work now. Got a nice surprise though, when I put full insurance back on. Went down from last years $838.00 to $650.00 for full coverage per year. Guess there are some benefits to turning 50...
Question for you stored Vet owners, I'm sure you probably keep the trickle charger on the battery and if so where do you run the wires? On my Ultra Classic scooter I have a pigtail down the side. Curious if that's an option and if any of you do that or do you just run them under the side of the hood like? Apologies for the unrelated question to the topic. Thank you.
I unplug the lights under the hood (by the right headlight) run the wires up under the body and set the battery tender on the engine somewhere and leave the hood up.
Just disconnected the CTEK (I run a quick connect from the positive battery terminal and ground just below the battery box) and took it out of storage on Sunday...It's been long enough! It's dry out (albeit cold), so as long as I don't get on the throttle too much (cold tires), we're good to go for the season. Yay!
They haven't salted the roads in a couple of days just need a few good down pours to wash salt off road. Hopefully in two or three weeks car will come out. Can't wait.
Yeah, we had a good rain two days ago and my fear of "Salt Dust" is over with. I checked and topped off the tire pressure and checked all the fluids, so this weekend she comes out and we head out for a little trip the Delaware Watershed and the state park.
Took mine Saturday to get a four wheel alignment. I just repleced my rear tie rod end links so I had to. happy I did because the front was out of whack as well and I didn't know how bad until I got the report back.
Got caught in the rain but that's ok. We had snow last week and the rain helped wash the roads off. I didn't want to take it out Saturday but I wanted it aligned ASAP in case I decide to go the show this Saturday.
oh come on guys. If the sun is out, the top comes down. It does not matter what the temperature is. I have had my top down every month, expect February as I was not home very much, since I purchased my vert. I live in Montana.
Montana... some of us dont have nice weather year around....
I work in the oilfields of ND, and coming home to Billings is so much nicer. Today, work will be a very nice 40 degrees, but in Billings, it will be a warm spring day of 62 degrees. Amazing how a 275 miles in distance makes a huge change in the weather. I guess today's weather beats the -50 below weather we had in ND this winter. Just for the record, it was not a sunny day, so the top did not come down.
This is why I'll never move north, they use too many terms I don't understand, like
1. Snow?? what is it and why is it on your roads?
2. Storage?? What does the age of the stors have to do with your car?
3. Salt, I do know that one,, but we put it on our food, not the road!!
Seems to me there are too many requirements and rules for your cars up there. Move to the south, drive all year round
