I've got a truck and my Z06, both serve different purposes and I can use both for work. But when the weather is lousy the Vette gets to stay clean and the truck can carry more stuff than the truck. And if we need a sedan then we use my wife's car. A sedan, a truck and a Vette makes the perfect fleet for all needs.

I have both. Got the truck to tow the boat, run to Home Depot and to drive when the vette is getting mods. I too am not a truck guy, but it's a must have owning a home
No way I was gonna put a tow hitch on the vette.

I think is has a lot to do with living in the south.
I don't care what people think I love this car and that is all that matters to me. Just curious if anybody else has heard the same from people.
What you own is up to you. I have my Vette's because I want them, not someone else.
If the girls don't like it. Get a new girl.

I live in the South, never seen that reaction. I have my'03 Tundra truck, my '69 coupe, and my '04 CE. Wife has her '13 Caravan. She likes the '04 CE better than the '69 (must be the A/C), hates my truck and loves her van.

Most women I run into want to jump into the '04. Maybe it's a generational/maturity issue your experiencing.....

Nothing wrong with owning both. I live here in Utah, need a truck to do things, as driving in the snow, and need a C5 to cruise in during the non snow months.

Last week I picked up 4 yards of bark mulch. Not gonna happen in either the vette or the G37X.

Figure I would use a truck 3-4x's per year. If I need to haul something bad enough I will find a friend with a truck or rent a U-Haul.

Truck come in handy when you need them; I own a '01 ram, and it hauls my quad most of the year, snow during the winter, falling leafs during the fall, and maybe a piece of wood or a bulky item during the year. Other than that, the bed is pretty much empty for about 340 days out of the 365 days of the year. The leafs and snow was a sarcastic joke. Snow helps with traction when loaded up too haha.

0H1ZO6, LOL.....no cheap shot, not aimed at you at all, just a response to the OP's sisters statement!

I'm a fan of your Avalanche, and would like one myself. I have a truck, a 1988 Chevy S10, so not worth posting a picture of it!!

And it looks like this thread is starting to display some really cool trucks.

I'd say to stop on by for a peek, but it sounds like "Feverish All Over" might be a bit of traveling time away.

Thought I'd write about trucks and their owners here in a deep south retirement community:

The overwhelming majority of residents here are from north of the Mason-Dixon line and the majority of them drive a truck of some configuration or another. And if you go into their houses you will most likely see a painting on red velvet of dogs playing cards over their fake fireplace.

They look at me like I'm out of sync when I drive by in my C5 - which I am. I've asked a few about their trucks and they say they are just trying to be Texans.

Really curious about their other opinions of Texas though. They complain about the heat (this time of the year the temperaturs are mostly measured in triple digits), how dry it is, all the bugs, etc. The next thing they say starts with, "back home...." then rave about all the great things they left there.

I wonder if driving a truck is the only thing they like about living here - not about to ask about the dog paintings.

P. S. I'm a native Texan in case you haven't guessed.
