Thank you, Chief.

Let each of us, myself most humbly included, make no mistake through arrogance. There are many wonderful, honorable, worthy, productive, creative, brilliant, etc., individuals whose skill set does not embrace the full breadth of the Queen's English. That "skill set" is, largely, irrelevant as long as the intended communication is clear.

(Hell, I even talk like this! Especially when I lecture - ask my long suffering students.)

My deepest and most treasured friendships are with people who, thankfully, do NOT use formal English. It's not that I put up with them, far better, it is they who graciously put up with me! Their lack of a "formal language skill set" often is simply a matter of ignorance...and ignorance, if correction is ever even necessary, can be cured.

Stupid is, however, forever. Stupid is, in this case, when one who blatantly lacks one skill set chastises another for properly using that self same skill set.

This rant carried on in an unrelated thread is non-productive...and I'm the one carrying it on. Shame on me for letting my button get pushed. It's just that I can't stand smart-azzed bullies. Our esteemed Original Poster had a problem and didn't deserve to be regaled with a stupid attempt to demean his method of communication.

Back to the original reason for the post. It's great that you were to get the security video. Please keep us informed as to the outcome. It's a problem that all Corvette owners have to face.

Best Regards ("Closing")

Gunny John ("Signature")

Thank you Gunny and everyone else for your kind words and sincere sympathy to my problem. Thank you Gunny for EDUCATING the uneducated on simple things in life. If it's not true, don't say it.If it's not yours, don't take it.If it's not right, don't do it. L8R ZFLASH

Good luck to LEO on catching the vandals - hope it's not too much of a PITA to get your car back to "right" - I have always thought it was a great looking setup!

Why I take my Santa Fe to the store/mall/shopping. But then, many of our Corvettes are DD's and subsequently, always at some level of risk. Still doesn't make it any less upsetting when some scumbag comes along.

Thanks on the compliments,it cost around $250 to remove and replace locking mechanism. I still need to replace the housing around it where he put a gouge into it, but I'll do that later. I'm thinking of selling it when I get back from VETTES and JETTS on the LEX in September, move up to a '13 GS or earlier Z06. L8R ZFLASH

Must have been a terrible thief. My car auto-locked while it was running when I was out taking pictures one night and I managed to get the door unlocked with a long stick and about 15-20 seconds. No damage at all.
