Sorry about another vent post,but it's my turn. While I was at the mall today,some A-HOLE decided to try and break into the Vette. They punched out the driver key hole and messed up the handle. They couldn't get in and nothing was stolen,but the damage sucks. Now I have to waste a day and $$ getting it fixed,I know it could have been a lot worse,but. I guess I'll be going through the passenger side to get the window down to open from the inside. Off to Richey Collision Thursday for repairs, thanks for listening. L8R ZFLASH

That sucks. I had the same thing happen to me and my Camaro Iroc when I was younger. The cop who filed the report told me it was probably punk kids because they tried to steal it. A pro car thief would have got it.

Bummer. At least it is a bolt on part without paint damage. The fix will look fine.
I knew a low rider once that did what a lot of the guys in his club did, illegally wire up a car battery to the body and handles.
Said he caught a guy once stuck to his car handle in the middle of the night screaming for help. I guess 57 chevys can handle the voltage ok, but I wonder about the neighborhood cats.
Plus, I was told, some of the guys in his club had severe violence issues, and I wouldn't want to be stuck to one of their cars, late, with no witnesses.

Really sorry to hear about that. I wonder what they were after? They couldn't of been after the car if they were that inept.
I believe the wiring to the battery is an old wives tale. 12V isn't enough to hurt you. Unless you get in the way of a + to - arch possibly, plus you can't charge fiberglass.
