Right place right time
So I had a 04, C5 coupe commerorative chrome wheels, etc etc. Posted it on this site with no takers. Sold it two weeks ago and got 26,500. Thing was mint.
My wife an Attorney tells me one of the lawyers in a New York Firm she does work with is having an estate sale. His dad passed away, he is the only child. So we go to Connecticut cause wife wants to look.
I looking around and bored look in garage and there is a 2004 C5 Z06 LeManns Blue, the thing looks NEW. Wow. Key on front seat, I turn it on and shows about 7,400 miles. So I go to John ask what the story is. Says he is not interested in the car and that he was going to list on e-bay before the house is sold. I tell him I am interested. Without hesitation he says make me an offer because I have no time for this. JOKINGLY I said OK, you let me take it home today and I will give you $21,000 as is. Looks at me, looks at insurance card and registration. Sees they are up to date says OK. Tells my wife to wire him money on Monday into his trust account. Take it home and when he gets payment he will send the title. I almost fell on my ***. Wife to play it safe calls my insurance (state farm 24 hour) and puts car on our policy.
Drove it home 1 1/2 hours to New Jersey. My wife was happy for me. Thing has two tops, cover, Chrome (not polished) wheels and from what I can see all options for that year.
Never thought it would happen but it did.

Always wanted to do that, sorry.
What a deal though. Go from coupe to a Z, probably drop a lot of miles, and pocket $5k. I've always heard it's better to be lucky than good.

Sorry I type with two fingers
Two tops on my coupe that I sold. Z is a hard top. I sold my 04 coupe not because I wanted or needed cash. Really wanted a newer car something like a 2010 to 2012 or different. Was looking at z and the low mileage ones were asking 30,00 plus and higher miles were in the 25000 range. Was in no hurry just looking around.
When this came along I was beyond thrilled. Had to pinch myself when I got it home. This one is a keeper. I love the stripes and after going over it seems (to me at leats) a lot of stuff added like carbon fiber stuff in engine, LED lighting, switchbacks on turn signals etc. Lots of little things that are tastefull.
Will post pictures when I get a chance.
