Yup. Just north of 21,000.

They seem to be in the range of 21,000 to 24,000 in my neck of the woods for a bare stock with 60,000-70,000.

I'm guessing someone took a pretty good bath with this car. The short block was 4k. And the supercharger was not cheap I'm sure. New radiator. Good clutch and tranny. Well built motor.

I'm really anxious for Spring.

I'm thinking of plasti dipping the wheels in spring.

I need a new set of rear wheels so i can stick to the ground! then i might try that plasti dip everyone's been talking about.

Only thing i really have planned for spring, other than driving it.

I changed ALL fluids to amsoil last fall. So i should be all set to do some cruising!

Not to burst your bubble , but a bone stock corvette is worth more to me. All of those mods means trouble down the road. I wouldn't even look at a car like that if I were in the buying mood. Sorry , but you was asking for opinions , that is mine. Looks nice though !

This is my opinion. Some one took a nice looking Z06, worth between 18 and 24 K stock. Then they spent 35,000 dollars to modify the car for a total investment of 55,000/ 60,000k at todays market, and made a conscious decision to sell it at a loss of 40,000 dollars. My question is why would someone do that unless there was a reason. Would I spend my own money to find out why he gave this car away at such a loss. I would not risk the odds. Also why would all that money be spent and it not be tuned. ( running rich ).Is the " not tuned " excuse, hiding an underlying problem. I would have asked the owner to have it tuned, before I would buy it, I would even pay half the cost of the tune, before I made the final commitment.
Just my opinion.

I'm a guy who likes modified cars so I'm digging it, running rich could be something as simple as one of your 02 sensors going bad or even one of the wires could have came in contact with the exhaust and melted, I had this issue once so thats how I know, a motor like yours definitely needs a qualified tuner to make sure everything is set up correctly or you could have some serious problems down the road.
Nice ride enjoy it.
Most of all though practice restraint on public roads, this type of car can get you in trouble pretty quick and possibly hurt if your not careful with her.
Good luck

Default great deal

IMO you got a great deal, let someone else spend all that $$$ on mods and they take the bath. You get all the benefits. As we all know when you mod a car, you're basically pissing that money away to make the car to your liking. The monetary return when selling is minimal. Why these people would rather by a stock car, put their own mods and spend thousands, then eventually sell for nothing is beyond me. So its not perfect, spend a few hundred on a good tune and you're done. Why people think just because they buy a stock car that its going to be perfect and not have issues is another mistake. That car has got to be a blast to drive with all those mods. Good luck with it!

Yep... I hear ya! I'm with you. There's no way I'd spend that much money and sell it for such a loss.

Who knows though, maybe their plan was to never sell it. To keep it and pass it down the bloodline ya know? Hard times could have come and needed some money.

Anyways. Enough with the potential sad stuff...

Congrats on the new car! i'm sure you'll love it. Also, don't worry about how much you spent. If you love it, can afford it, and it's exactly what you wanted. Then it doesn't matter what you spent.

Most people on this forum always lowball prices. They say 15,800 for a corvette like that!! I got my slightly modded FRC for 16,500 in my area and that was a steal! Even as I was handing over the money the owner got 2 calls with offers.

Anyways. Have fun! be safe!

wow lots of negative nancy's

I'm subject to the same mechanical issues all other corvette mortal owners are.

I took this to my local mechanic to install a wideband. he was flabbergasted. he said "wow, this was professionally built. there arn't any cars like this around here!"

as far as my wideband is telling me my car is tuned correctly. so looks like it doesn't need a tune after all.

I may have it dynoed and possibly tuned this summer just so i know its right. it was dynoed @ 670whp before the ported heads were installed. so i'm curious to where its at now. how much hp you guys think ported heads will add to her?

Just another heads up, your car can be tuned to perfection and small issues such as 02 sensors or even the ect sensor can change the amount of fuel being delivered, both if these are very easy to check and when you own a car like this, it's a labor of love making sure that minor things don't spoil the fun, great car and enjoy

Worse comes to worse you could most likely part out the goodies and damn near recoup what ya spent, sc alone used is 3500 to 4k. And still have a runnin Z.

Only worries I have with highly modded cars are how hard they we're run, other then thAt I think you did really well as most if the built blown cars that have been posted are askin upwards of 30k

Enjoy and easy does on that right foot, you can end up with a 20k pile of plastic and metal in short order

You come here and ask how you did , and when it doesn't go the way you think you start calling people names.

Suck it up, or the next time you ask for help or opinion, preface the post by saying please tell me what I want to hear or don't say anything because I can't take truthful opinions from people who don't sugar coat things.

Dude get used to it there are people that are corvette purist, the ones that don't do any mods and the ones that do, it's unfortunate that some condem the ones that aren't happy with the performance that the stock C5 came with, it's a great car out of the box, but it begs to be modified, be careful what you ask for on these forums cause you will get poked at by the forum members that do not agree with the choices you make.
You got an awesome deal that makes a lot of people jelouse, it's obvious by the responses.
Don't let it bother you, they are a dying breed IMO
