I'm pretty much a "bum" [no cell phone or credit card] who has never actually made more than minimum wage since I was a mechanic after I got out of the Navy back in "69"! I got lucky and found a bag of money out in the woods [hunting mushrooms] and have lived on it ever since. If you don't believe me just ask evil twin!
Retired from the USAF in 2000 after 29 years. Did background investigations for the government for the next nine years. I now manage a small self storage facility in eastern NC.
I'm in my 17th year of teaching, currently 8th-grade English.
Before that I was a bored stockbroker and previous to that I was a Navy Radar Intercept Officer in the F-4 Phantom.
Retirement is about 5 years away. I've got a few book ideas to pursue then or start some kind of net-based business. I'm not 100% clear on that yet. Or I might teach at a private school and collect retirement and a salary.

My favorite and most fun years in the USAF I was a Weapons System Officer flying in the back seat of the F-4 Phantom!! Too bad they are now either drone targets, perched on a stick, or in the boneyard somewhere.

Cool. I've got around 20 hours in the F-4E from flying with the 495th TFS "Hooters" at Osan AFB in Korea around 1986.
Came across this and thought I would revive it since I am a fairly new member...Just bought my C5 in November after having a C3 for the last 18 years. Retired USAF and now a DoD Civilian Emergency Manager, Emergency Operations Center Manager and CBRN Responder. 10 more years to go....The pic was of my early days when I was a "Purveyor of Alien Technology". I'm 30, and I hold a bachelor's in BBA-Finance. I do cost control for the first commercial 2nd generation ethanol plant in the WORLD that is currently being built in Hugoton Kansas about 30min from The Land of OZ. They use the corn-stover instead of corn. It's my first project, and in my life did I think I would be doing something like this.
